BTW - Wandered over to check out the (positive for once!) posts at the pink place during lunch, and someone said that Adam being cast on Glee was being discussed on The View (? The Talk?) Which ever show it was Whoopi Goldberg was apparently excited! Hopefully some ninja will find the clip.

Just curious
From a marketing standpoint, is there a reason the Glee announcement vis twitter was made late in the day as opposed to an early morning ( 8 am EAST USA - workforce office hours) annoucement.??????????? DOes the time of the day effect more countries working hours? Get more exposure quicker?

DOes the time of the day effect more countries working hours? Get more exposure quicker? It us not a surprise to start the cycle internationally rolling to the USA time zones... Not sure why that is, but not a surprise to me. Last night local Fox 10 o'clock new anchor said "Glee and American Idol team up"... and had to stay tuned until after the commercial that was the lead in to... During this time I wondered if they would mention Adam. Wait, heart pounding, wait, heart pounding, you know how that goes:-) Anyway, When the news came back on and they talked about it they said Adam Lambert to ..... sorry was so excited to hear his name I lost my mind and don't remember the exact quotes. But basically talked about Adam Idol contestant joining Glee and showed pics of him on the Idol red carpet etc. Quick, but sweet:-))) I am wondering, who feeds the anchor the lead in tag line, in this case "Glee and American Idol team up". I thought the term "team up" to be interesting. And if Fox PTB supply the press release that does seem to suggest they want Adam to tie Glee and Idol together for some reason. Maybe just my own mashed potatoes here... who know. But then we see tweets like Brads... RE: I wouldn't rule this totally out, and Brad is in the Biz... so his intuition I don't take lightly. It could happen. Brad Bessey @bradbessey .@konaflower Well..I'm picturing an overall @foxtv deal fir @adamlambert that includes @gleeonfox & @americanidol (my guess, not confirmed) Read more: atop.proboards.com/thread/1802/12-adam-news-info-gleeful?page=4#ixzz2YqpE5xbP

The speculation about Adam doing both Glee AND American Idol reminded me of when Adam mentored AI and there were at least 5 Glee cast members (that I could see) in the row behind him: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ST1v8OTSNVcSo much coincidence.

If Adam did AI and Glee would that not tie in a lot of demographics one show alone would not do?

DOes the time of the day effect more countries working hours? Get more exposure quicker? For Asian market it was office hours (about noon) and also the news was waiting for the Europeans in the morning (released at about 4 or 5 am here). The US news outlets were able to get it out early in the morning as well. Internationally a very good timing. If it were released 8 am NYC time it would be much worse for the non-US market, late in the afternoon for Europe and evening for Asia. With so much info flying around in this day an age speed seems to be even more important a factor. More news sites might drop 'yesterday's news' if it's not something BIG in their mind - there's always something new coming that grabs the attention. I see an international point of view in the timing. Glee might be a popular show in Asia... and with Adam's interests in that market I think it was a good timing.
