This also explains why no release of the Lifeball song. Why release a song that RCA would have a piece of when he is fixing to leave. Or maybe being in limbo without agreement on proceeding with the third album meant releasing anything would be a legal nightmare. It might have been a problem because he was in legal limbo but I get the impression that Adam did not want this song confused with his new music -- like what happened with TFM and his FYE album. I do not recall Adam ever tweeting anything about it being a new single or released. Instead he tweeted "LWOG was written specifically for @lifeball 2013, this great one-time event. Its life was short but will live on via YouTube". I loved the performance but am glad he did not have a Europop song out there. And his costume was the best part. |

Don't think so. The caption under the photo says the band formed March 1st 1971. 40th anniversary was March 1st 2011. More likely it's Queen gig hint. |

This was coming. You could kind of sense it. And now the Shirley Halperin article makes all kinds of sense.
Love the Glee news, don't really care too much about Queenbert, but (and I may be in the minority here) I really, really want him to have a major label behind him. I guess we will see what happens. Maybe the timing isn't right, or maybe he would be better with a smaller label. I don't know.
Glad he stuck to his guns, but admittedly nervous about what this ultimately means for his music career.
eta---the news of his parting with the label was handled brilliantly

I believe the plans for a new label are all in place, just waiting for an announcement. Adam has appeared so happy and content lately! He does not look like he is facing any uncertainty in his career. Is it possible that in the separation agreement with RCA there is a waiting time specified before he can announce a new label?
