There really can't be much in the delay department, because they have to air on a certain date. IMHO,In show business..there is a pause of respect and then the actors continue on.. Remember Clyde Davis party after Whitney Houston was found dead. .. It was not cancelled.. The old adage "The show must go on".. Some Actors go on the stage even when family members die... Getting the cast together will probably help in the mourning process.. they are there together ,for each other, like a family.. Just my thinking. All of that is certainly true, but Lea is an enormous part of Glee. And I think she may not be able to just jump back into things so easily. I'm sure it will be very difficult .. thank goodness the cast has each other for support.

Don't know how the sad passing of Cory will affect Glee's shooting schedule, although I assume they'd probably delay no more than a few days. I haven't watched the show before, but I thought I read that Cory's role had been somewhat diminished last season while he fought his demons.
I'm very glad the announcement of Adam joining the show was made before Cory's death so no one assumes he was brought in hastily as a replacement. Also, now it will be awkward for the producers to make any upbeat announcements for awhile. Beyond that I can't imagine that any Glee fans would have animosity towards Adam.
Young people sometimes feel invincible and then after addiction gets ahold of them it is sometimes impossible to shake. Hopefully some of his young fans will learn from htis and think twice before experimenting wih drugs as a result of this tragedy.

Skylar posted this at the end of yesterday's thread, in case you missed it, I'm reposting today, as it spoke to my feelings: From day 1 Adam Lambert chose to place his vulnerable, beating heart out there for the world to kiss and stab. He rose out of American Idol with a revolutionary artistic statement. Beyond openly expressing his sexuality, he and Tommy kissed their way across mainstream America and around the world. Yes, that IS a statement for the books. Maybe more fun than refusing to move to the back of the bus (Rosa) but not so different. (Huge kudos to Tommy) The way was prepared for someone like Adam and there have been other similar boundary pushing artists (def. not American Idols) . But how many have the spine to step up to the plate? Adam is already firmly in the book of social boundary pushing artist changemakers. He has chosen to be not a small, but rather a MASSIVE GLBT community changemaker. He has used his star power to help his people. Nothing in my book is bigger than this. No artistry, no statement, no visual or musical piece is more beautiful than Adam using his fame this way. I crave his voice and his entertainment, but his heart is what wins me every time. I have no doubt that who he is, his integrity and heart, has significantly helped increase the mobilization of changemakers for gay rights, equality, and fair and kind treatment of our neighbors across the U.S. Included in Adam's followers are a group of huge-hearted fans who want to change the world for Adam and for all those facing similar ridiculous injustices, inequality, and oppression. These particular followers batter down walls, and infiltrate bastions of ignorance out of love for Adam. Adam is a hero already. He has used his sex appeal, his sexuality, his talents and his skills to help rally massive change. He scared and likely still scares conservative members of both the gay and the straight community. Bravo!! Adam is a true artist and his greatest artistic statement is not his pop music. It is his loyalty to being fully himself and his courage and determination to fight oppression with and for all who have suffered it. His voice is the servant of his heart. What is more beautiful? Really? Proud fan. Integrity is a rare thing. Read more: adamtopia.com/thread/1803/adam-leaves-over-creative-differences?page=21#ixzz2Z2C4lIYa

Ok - I wasn't nervous about Glee before, but with Cory's death this is now a minefield. First, Lea is Cory's RL girlfriend. So any Adam storyline with her is now fraught with peril, both on a fanbase level (ADAM CANNOT REPLACE FINN!! HATRED!!) and potentially on a personal, tragic level. Poor Lea. (Don't mean to sound callous, but in cases like this my sympathy lies with those left behind and forced to pick up the pieces). I don't know what Adam's role was meant to be, but the loss of Cory may, indeed, affect what Glee intended for Adam. Second, I thought it would be part of the promo/interview campaign that "Hey, Adam tried out for Glee all those years ago, but he's baaaaack!!" Problem is that, I believe, the part he auditioned for was.....Finn. Ergo, the timing of Adam (a good shot for Finn) coming back just as the original Finn has passed away is not a funny "Oooh, that's hilarious!" sort of thing, but a rather creepy situation. Total coincidence. But potentially distasteful on an emotional level. I really, really hope that Cory's death doesn't hurt Adam's chances for success on the show. And again, I don't mean to sound like an unfeeling jerk, but in cases of death due to [suspected] overdose, I'm usually angrier at the person who died than totally sympathetic. I save that for the people who are left. Actually, my thoughts went in a different direction. Because Adam's move to Glee was announced before Cory's death, there should be no thoughts of him being brought in to replace Cory. What I was thinking about was what a force for healing Adam will be to the Glee team. He shares his love and light and HUGS. The cast seems genuinely excited about his arrival - especially Lea. Of course it will be very difficult for them all, but I truly feel Adam's presence will be a good thing. #broken open

The Glee shooting might be delayed by a couple of days, but no more. They cannot delay the season opening no matter the tragedy. Only a writers' strike has done that in the past. If Cory was in the first script they are shooting, they may switch things around. Or they might just do an emergency rewrite over the next few days. That happens frequently, for many reasons.
As for the cast members shouldering on, that is a hallmark of stage performers. It is a long-held tradition for handling trauma. It may be therapeutic for them. Who knows? I am of the belief that this sad development may indeed bump up the timing of Adam's appearance, and the size of his role. The producers will want to acknowledge Cory's passing somehow in the script. Their audience expects it. But, Glee doesn't do tragedy and darkness, and the producers will want to get beyond this and emphasize that Glee is alive and well. With the overwhelming positive response to Adam joining the cast, it would be smart to capitalize and focus on that rather than the loss.
The fact that Adam auditioned for the role of Finn five years ago would probably not have been brought up by the Glee people in any case. If for no other reason than they would not want to admit that they had such a superstar-in-the-making within their grasp, and turned him down. All in all, I do not see this tragedy as altering what happens with Adam on Glee.
Forgive me for being so "Adam-centric" but my little inner voice that tends to worry about Adam kinda hopes that this is an object lesson for him. It is so easy to let fame and fortune and the stress that accompanies that lead you down some dark paths. Adam is surrounded by casual drug use, plus he leads such a hectic life, it is much too easy to turn to prescription drugs to help adapt to such a frantic schedule. It has happened to too many young, talented people in the past. No one is immune to the lure. Adam, take care of yourself and maintain your healthy lifestyle.

New music! Adam can finally move forward with it full speed. I think it may bump up when we get that new music now that all obstacles are gone. I am now hopeful for a fall single, pleeeez.
