Most visitors traveling the streets of Philadelphia are looking for some history.
On August 12 2010, I was looking for the Adam Lambert concert.
At the Tower Theater, I found the history, too.
Rock and Roll history was made and can be seen in the lobby's collection of old Tower concert posters.
I was particularly fascinated by the Queen posters from January 31 - February 2 1976.
The Tower introduced America to David Bowie and The Spiders from Mars in 1972... In September 1974, Bruce Springsteen – who had an early, strong, and long-lived fan base in Philadelphia – introduced the world to his new E Street Band... Other regular Midnight Sun headliners at the Tower included Jackson Browne, Lou Reed, Steve Miller, and various editions of the Jerry Garcia/Merle Saunders band. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_Theater_(Upper_Darby,_Pennsylvania) - bit.ly/6oJxrV
Queen'sA Night at the Opera Tour was a concert tour in 1975 by Queen to promote their album A Night at the Opera. It spanned from 1975 to 1976 and covered Europe, the United States, Japan, and Australia. This was the first appearance of Bohemian Rhapsody, which went on to be played at every Queen gig from the A Night At The Opera Tour to the Magic Tour. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Night_at_the_Opera_Tour - bit.ly/18tgjs3

David Bowie repaid his Philly fans by recording his David Live album during a long run of shows at the Tower. Bowie and Genesis' Phil Collins would subsequently mention their Tower shows as being instrumental in introducing them to an American audience. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_Theater_(Upper_Darby,_Pennsylvania) - bit.ly/6oJxrV
