Some thoughts and reflections about Adam and being a fan..... Sometimes I feel like I can't catch my breath with joy when Adam does one of his amazing vocals,sometimes I feel deflated when I can't find him,as though I lost him,when I never actually had him, Sometimes I try to make him fit my expectations, and sometimes I get REAL and realize I'm a fan ,not a friend,not a lover,not a relative, a person who loves the sound of his amazing voice,enjoys his successes ,cries at his hurts.. but in the end ,I am an observer of another's life. I said a couple of weeks ago that Adam was at a crossroads and that seems to have happened.. He is no longer that boy on Idol,Adam is now a mature man ,who has grown enormously. His vision has more depth,he has experienced much , he is no longer that starry eyed boy ,but a man who has been around the block a few more times.. Adam is certainly his own man as he has just declared with his label as well as with the attentive world.. It's his life ,his art and his time. He is the master of his own fate. This in a world that screams conformity... Melliemom, your comments today (7/27), and Momtomany, your comments on yesterday's thread (7/26) reflect how I'm feeling about Adam right now. During this seeming "down time" for us, I'm sure that a lot is happening that we are not privy to at this time. Adam's career path is evolving in a different way that speaks of the supremely talented, unique, and true artist that he is - and all of this will take time. In the meantime, I'm enjoying what's now being posted - favorite concerts, interviews, and gifs - from times past. I am especially enjoying the Gridlock videos - my very first experience of seeing Adam live. "Do I look like a firecracker?" - Well, he was indeed a firecracker that night, just exploding with talent, energy, and chutzpah. At the time I thought - If I never am able to see him again, I have THIS for my memory banks. And now, the present time. While many of us fans (me included) will not be able to attend the IHeart concert with Queen coming up in Sept - just think of the new audience that will be experiencing Adam for the first time. I look forward to hopefully getting a live-stream - also videos and comments on his appearance here. Good things are coming - |

I have always disliked August, the month of. I am usually tiring of the beach and summer stuff and I want to do something fallish, cooking, crafts and with an eyeball looking at Christmas. Yes, I am one of those people who get ready for holidays starting in August.
I thought of a word today that describes August to me but it also describes the lack of news about Adam. The word is doldrums, courtesy of Mirriam Webster.
Definition of DOLDRUMS
1
: a spell of listlessness or despondency
2
often capitalized : a part of the ocean near the equator abounding in calms, squalls, and light shifting winds
3
: a state or period of inactivity, stagnation, or slump
Examples of DOLDRUMS
<the theater scene is usually in the doldrums during the summer>
<the team had been in the doldrums ever since losing the championship>
I suddenly realized that maybe my way of stanning Adam is asking too much of him, sometimes I want him to be my entertainment, 24/7, and that's not fair. I have a feeling that this record deal is going to take a while so I will look forward to Glee and stop checking websites every hour on the hour waiting for news that may be a while in coming. That's just for me though, I don't want to burn out on my fanning and I have done so previously. Just takin' a step back for now.
