Billboard @billboard Katy Perry Announces 'Prism' Album With Golden Truck blbrd.co/17Q5WhHKaty Perry Announces 'Prism' Album With Golden Truck By David Greenwald | July 29, 2013 9:28 PM EDT
Perry will return with "Prism" in October, she announced via an unexpected viral campaign. Katy Perry is making a statement -- with a semi-truck. An enormous golden truck with "Katy Perry - Prism - 10-22-13" emblazoned on its sides, top and back was spotted in Los Angeles on Monday, as pointed out on Twitter by Perry pal Adam Lambert. Adam Lambert ✔ @adamlambert Yes @katyperry this is crazy!! Love it! pic.twitter.com/Muuj3j4awOPerry herself encouraged fans to keep an eye out for the shiny viral campaign and confirmed the truck announces the title of her new album and its release date. "Find the #PRISM semi, take a picture and I'll RT you," she promised, catnip for her Katykats. "Don't worry, Los Angeles is just the first stop on the map." more..

So which locale does that place him in? Vocal Adrenaline is a rival high school show choir--not NYC.

Do others think the push by RCA to do a covers album is why Adam was doing different covers and RCA tweeted those links? It seemed like RCA gave more PR to those covers than Trespassing. I suppose this has been discussed and I missed it, but the whole RCA/covers thing is just sad. or not, now that Adam has escaped them. I think the person who operates the RCA twitter didn't get the memo that the working relationship between Adam & RCA has comes to an end

All of the press outlets were giving attention to the covers Adam did.

So, the first thing I did tonight after reading my way through the last 13 pages was check my bottle of wine to make sure I really only had one glass and not the whole bottle, because my head is spinning. If somebody would have told me that this new song is a remix of Love Wins Over Glamour, I would have totally believed that. Then reading the dates and how this came about, it turns out he had this song in the can (4/29) before he performed LWOG in Vienna. But then, as far as I recall, he had flown somewhere in February to Vienna to work on that song and presumably laid down that background track at that time. So, these two did develop both roughly at the same time (Winter-ish 2013). I guess, we can say, that the common songwriting signature sound is clearly detectable. No wonder they could not both get released. The second reason to check my bottle, was that Adam had announced more rock and ....well, this one ain't quite that. So, Adam clearly continues to trespass with his large Louboutin boots criss-cross any lines of genre ever drawn. I had been wondering about that actually. On a personal level, I certainly prefer the rock direction, but obviously, what tops the charts right now, is very much, big beat, high vocals set in contrast to that funky beat. Big dance songs....not organic rock, even though the latter may be up and coming. With this song, Avicii, Neil and Adam are obviously tying right into that ongoing boom. I hope it works for them as hoped. Normally, I love it best when Adam changes up his register from low to high in a song. I am a little less of a fan, when it stays in the upper ranges of his voice for almost the whole time. That is a personal preference, not saying, this is what the market cares about or wants. I have never understood what 'the market' considers hit-worthy anyhow, so I wait for that to sort itself out. We'll see, what the market thinks. What I love though is that Adam boldly steps out on all platforms at once. He does a disco song here, plays with Queen at i-Heart, writes a new album where he tests a new rock direction as far as we know, and then he goes on Glee where he sings covers, ties back to his old theatrical roots and gives us as much campy throwback we could ever want. THIS, THIS, THIS is totally what I think Adam needs to be doing. Not fearfully trying to pigeon-hole himself into one part of himself, just to appease those folks, that want a simple box for their artists, but rather bravely stepping out and just leaving such narrow thinkers in the dust. Roller-coaster here we come. It is this boldness that I especially love about Adam, even when I have a hard time following every individual piece of it myself. Adam keeps pushing me artistically out of my comfort zone and he keeps amazing me. And he makes me laugh at the same time. As far as the business workings of this new collaboration is concerned, I found this article quite interesting: www.universalmusic.com/corporate/detail/2489New business models are emerging everywhere.

shoshanna stone @shoshannastone 23 Mar iPod on random. 'Cuckoo' is still amazing Expand Popjustice @popjustice 23 Mar @shoshannastone It should have been the first single (with a different title) Expand shoshanna stone @shoshannastone 23 Mar @popjustice you've been harping on about that for a year now. Why different name? It was nearly called cuckoo (party till they take us away) Expand Popjustice @popjustice 23 Mar @shoshannastone I think people find him overcomplicated so a title that looked less "LOOK AT ME" would have worked betterExpand Reply Retweet Favorite More Adam Lambert @adamlambert 23 Mar @popjustice @shoshannastone hahaha "less look at me". Note taken. Lol Hide conversation OK. But still have no idea what this has to do with what we were discussing?? Color me confused right now

This is not Adam's single or Adam's album. This is Adam agreeing to do a guest vocal on the album of the hottest Pop/Dance guy in the world right now. Probably recommended by Nile. Agree that him changing genres and being able to excel at all of them is one of his strongest musical characteristics! Love that Nile and others recognize it! Love that Avicii is bold enough, at his young age, to go against the grain also!
