I think I understand what they are saying. For example., compare Trespassing (track) to Daft Punk's "Get Lucky". GL is filled with repetition and simple lryics that mean nothing. It is just a fun summer song. Trespassing has almost no repetition, for pop it is a complex set of lyrics and it has a deeper meaning. And the lyrics are just the tip of the iceberg -- because the underlying music in Trespassing is also more complex. What I love about Adam's music, is what makes it difficult to break through in current mainstream pop music. Adam's music is mostly storytelling. Seems to me pop music in general doesn't like stories it likes simple repetition (musically and lyrically). You get the occasional example that breaks the rule and then bang right back to the "rule" again. Is why I was furious they didn't release Naked Love - it was the most pop (musically and lyrically) and probably could have been a breakout for him.

I too will be disappointed if Adam's role on GLEE turns out to be as coach of Vocal Adrenaline. Surely Ryan Murphy can do better than that. Cheyenne Jackson, Broadway's "It Boy" before Billy Magnussen, played that part a few years back. Don't tell me Ryan gives that role to every gay male guest star?Well, let's see, Perez played a judge during one of the competitions..... Really though, I have faith that the writer's are more creative and would not have Adam in the same role as Cheyenne. I don't think Mr Jackson even got to sing while he was on the show. I agree with those who believe Lea Michele may have some influence here. She has expressed a desire to sing with Adam. I hope we see him in "New York".

AdamLambertPride @alalwayz 23m Adam Lambert mention. Jayma Mays confirms she's leaving 'Glee' | TheCelebrityCafe.com thecelebritycafe.com/feature/2013/07/jayma-mays-confirms-shes-leaving-glee#.UfdydfcRU1A.twitter … Glee star Jayma Mays, who plays Matthew Morrison’s wife on the show, has confirmed she’s leaving because she accepted a role on CBS’ The Millers. Mays confirmed to Access Hollywood that this upcoming season will be her last. While at the Smurfs 2 premiere, Mays said “This is going to be my last season.” She added, “I’m finishing up this season, so I’m not sure what direction and who’s coming on and who’s not.” Mays isn’t the only one not returning to the show. Mark Salling, Heather Morris, Amber Riley and Harry Shum Jr. will also not be returning. Mays’ Emma Pillsbury married Morrison’s Will Scheuster on last season's finale. Other changes to FOX’s Glee are the untimely death of one of its stars, Cory Monteith, and American Idol alum Adam Lambert joining the cast. Earlier this month, show co-creator Ryan Murphy confirmed on Twitter, "I am thrilled to announce that the super-talented Adam Lambert is joining the cast of Glee this fall."

Gelly @14gelly 10m Listen: 'Lay Me Down' by Avicii with Nile Rodgers & Adam Lambert | Gigwise www.gigwise.com/news/83235/listen-lay-me-down-by-avicii-with-nile-rodgers-&-adam-lambert … via @gigwise Adam Lambert Tickets A live recording of a new track by Avicii featuring Nile Rodgers and Adam Lambert has surfaced online. Listen to 'Lay Me Down' below. Speaking to Digital Spy about the track earlier this week, the Swedish chart-topping DJ described the track as 'very disco' - and boy, is it disco. With a beat and drive remiscent of Daft Punk, 'ID (Lay Me Down)' is charged by Chic superstars Rodgers' unmistakable and timelessly danceable guitarwork while Adam Lambert bathes the song in some soulful but lively vocals. Expect this to be huge on dancefloors this summer. Listen to 'ID (Lay My Down)' by Avicii featuring Nile Rodgers and Adam Lambert below: The collaboration is taken from Avicii's upcoming album #True, which is due for release on 17 September.

The Lambrits @lambritsuk 1m RT plumcomm: Wow. Could Adam possibly be joining the party? RT @marwinlambert: Avicii to join Nile Rodgers at (cont) tl.gd/mcm5i1 Legendary musician and producer Nile Rodgers announced today that he and his iconic band Chic will be joined by Swedish DJ sensation Avicii at an event at Martha Clara this August billed AFTEE Nile Rodgers Dance Party. The show will benefit the new non-profit organization All For The East End (AFTEE), which aims to raise funds to support the more than 1,000 not-for-profits on Long Island’s East End with grants. Nile Rodgers is best known as one of the founders of the dance band Chic who brought hits like Le Freak (Aw Freak Out!), Everybody Dance and many others. He has worked as a producer with countless musical heavyweights in a wide range of genres from Madonna to David Bowie, Duran Duran and Dianna Ross. More recently, Rodgers co-wrote and played his famous guitar “The Hitmaker” on the new Daft Punk summer anthem “Get Lucky.” Self taught and only 22 years old, Avicii has already made a name for himself with his inventive electronic music. He recently headlined the Ultra Music Festival with Madonna in Miami and has also completed a $1-million charity tour. He’s currently considered one of the biggest names in all of music. At a press conference announcing the event, Rodgers said, “Just Avicii and Chic is a good show alone,” but hinted other special guests may be announced soon. “It’s going to be hard to keep some of them off the stage with me because that’s what we do. We’re a community that loves to support each other.” The event will take place at Martha Clara Vineyard in Riverhead on August 19. Of the setting, Rodgers joked, “I saw this horse standing where the stage will be and I said, “Hey, you’re in my spot.’” All For the East End (AFTEE) is a new 501(c)(3) non-profit established to raise awareness of the role not-for-profit organizations play across the East End. Working with the Long Island Community Foundation, AFTEE will establish a grant process to bring in new funds and disperse them to the more than 1,000 registered 501(c)(3) organizations on the East End. Rodgers summed up, “[The event} will be the greatest dance party the East End of Long Island has ever seen. Dance music unites, dance music is happy and [we] will bring all ages to the dance floor. I say this with a huge amount of humility, but we are really good. I guarantee you’re going to be dancing that night. Tickets for the event can be purchased online at aftee.org for $149 per ticket. Organizers announced 1,000 tickets have been reserved for residents of the East End at $50 per ticket.

Erm , don't mean to be pushy , but where is the "TODAY" thread ? is Q3 alright ? Tinafea ? Stardust ? MODS ? Q3 last posted about midnight today EDT. She usually posts a little on the old thread then announces the new thread is up. I checked the Home page and didn't see any mods online. We'll just have to wait until one of them wakes up. Hope Q3 is alright and just fell asleep at her computer!
