I’m really excited about the Avicii collaboration coming true. For the record, I really don’t care for a lot of EDM, or DJ-mixed dance/trance/house. It’s not my thing, usually. But my husband is a massive fan of this style. I haven’t said a word to him about this. I’ll wait until he comes to me saying “hey, did you know that Lambert dude is on Avicii’s album??” I can’t wait! (My husband worships daily at the altar of Tiesto, and spends hours of his free time downloading and mixing electronic music. It doesn’t do much for me; I don’t like music without any vocals, or with overly repetitive vocals. I really only like this style with some interesting guitar work, or a strong sense of funkiness…which probably explains why Get Lucky DOESN’T send me screaming from the room, lol. ) Back on topic…yay for cool, out of the box, collaborations! Hoping for more. I’ve been on holiday for the last 2 weeks, and this was great news to come back to. But I see that Melvin is still with us. Sigh. I was thinking that another reason this might be (hopefully) a great and fruitful collaboration is that he is the only singer. Think about it. Really, what current popular singer would want to share a track with that voice? I think others would be intimidated even though we know he is a sweetheart and knows how to duet. This song does not present a problem with egos. I'm not that into the song--maybe when I hear the real production and good sound--but that doesn't matter. I hope it gets released as a single and is a hit.

Fans LOVE Adam Lambert & Avicii’s ‘Lay Me Down’ – Do you? (LISTEN) Adam Lambert has been bigging up a brand new song that he co-wrote with music star Avicii.
The producer really is the man of the moment and is currently topping singles charts all around the world, so it’s a great time for Adam to become involved, since we know he can more than match the Swedish DJ in terms of insane talent.
Adam and Avicii (real name Tim Bergling) recently confirmed that they had collaborated on a song that is due to appear on Tim’s new album ‘#True’, along with Lambert’s long time pal and musician Nile Rodgers.
Now the ‘For Your Entertainment’ hitmaker has now confirmed via Twitter that he actually helped pen the song, tweeting: “Has everyone pre-ordered the upcoming @avicii album #TRUE ? I co-wrote and sang “Lay Me Down”! Excited for you all to hear it!”
Avicii has been closing his recent gigs by playing the track and so far the fan reaction has been amazing.
One supporter commented on a youtube video saying:
“OMFG I CAN’T WAIT TO GET THIS SONG ON MY IPHONE THIS SONG IS GOING TO BE AWESOME!!! ADAM’S POWERFUL VOCALS + NILES AMAZING GUITAR SKILLS + AVICII’S SUPREMO MIXING PROWESS = WORLDWIDE HIT!!!!!!!”
Another said:
“Omg I’m 110% in love with this!!!!! Adam is so perfect for this song!!!! ♥ looking foward this as a hit!”
A third posted:
“This is such a groovy song!!! I love it!!! Gonna pre-order the album just so I can listen to Adam’s beautiful voice and Nile’s funky guitar on my iPod. :D ”
Have a listen and tell us what you think in the comments section below…
(There's two photos of Adam plus one of Avicii, plus the YouTube.)

So is this no news conference over, as far as idol is concerned?
JLo is in negotiations and KU is in. Does he really think he is telling anyone anything new. And they want to 'tinker' with the format? If Fox is clueless on how to do this show right, why don't they try to sell it to somebody who does.
It was always my impression that Fox only got incredibly lucky with the original idol, but had done absolutly nothing to deserve it. Kind of like the Geologist who makes an incredible find of a new gold mine or something. The fact that he got rich, does not mean he actually understands something about geology. Same with Fox. Once they actually had to put effort into running, hosting and casting this show, they failed totally.
Many people here praised Reilly and I asked why. Don't know that guy, so cannot say one way or the other, but sure don't see anything that looks like he is trying or has any clue on how to rescue the show. With JLo and KU, he certainly won't.

Actually this is not the one right next to where you were but a little further over. My hand is just to the left of the hand he is holding and the lady with the baseball cap holding the little bag is the one who was with me in line first thing in the morning. Her daughter is to her right. You were further to the right of this picture about 10 people over from this. Are you sure? I see the steps. And the girl with a cap was right behind me if I remembered correctly. Maybe I was wrong. But anyway, it was so much fun. No big deal really but yes I am sure, like I said the woman holding the present is the lady I visited with in line ALL DAY LONG. The young girl whose hand he is holding was standing behind us up until Adam came on but when the concert started and everybody packed in closer we let her squeeze in between us. The type of lens is apparently shrinking the distances because those steps appear a bit closer than they actually were. I suck at judging distances but I know you were further down to the right of where I was and I was about 10 feet or so right of center stage. He held the hand of someone right by you and I could see that whole area surging forward and knew you had to have gotten buried then he came down the line and briefly grabbed several other hands (all teenagers btw). I still follow this particular young girl on twitter.

Kevin Reilley has a great track record so he is respected. I am not sure Idol can be fixed because of the show's maturity, new competition and the drop in network TV viewers. That said, why would they think 2 former judges will help?
