Yes, being independent would give him creative and artistic freedom. He could also potentially retain more money from sales. Being an independent artist does not mean not having a label contract, just not with a "major" label. Would Cherry Tree or whatever constitute a major label? [br Yes it is an imprint (brand) within Universal Music Group. There are now 3 major labels left in the world -- UMG (Universal), Sony Music Entertainment (includes RCA), and Warner. EMI is now owned by UMG ETA: I do not think Adam is likely to end up at Cherry Tree. JMHO.

evergreen, three tweets from Nile: Nile Rodgers @nilerodgers 8 h CHIC ft. @nilerodgers with support from @janellemonae added to the #iTunesFestival on 14/09/13 bit.ly/lHx0Xo pic.twitter.com/3ltbU9xVfL Nile Rodgers @nilerodgers 8 h CHIC featuring @nilerodgers with support from @janellemonae added to the #iTunesFestival on 14/09/13... fb.me/2yh1YrebVNile Rodgers @nilerodgers 4 h Chic with Nile Rodgers, Janelle Monae, Poliça and more added to iTunes Festival line-up fb.me/Sf8v724zThe first one links to iTunes and a pic, the second one tell the story and link to his FB post with the same contents and the third one links to aa article. Did you click and read the article? If you are more inclined to click a link like this, here www.factmag.com/2013/08/07/chic-with-nile-rodgers-janelle-monae-polica-and-more-added-to-itunes-festival-line-up/ Chic is playing at the iTunes Festival Sep 14 and Janelle Monae is an opening act (=support). Anything else is speculation, assumptions or hopeful thinking (about Adam or Avicii or both or even Daft Punk showing up). ... and I think it's just a normal Chic gig. All the special guests etc talk refers to the Aftee Dance Party. And if you think pulling the Shosh card, she was excited about John Legend performing Sep 28.

I only caught the tail end of Nile's interview. Everywhere we turn...Nile and Brian May are " pumping Adam's tires". Someone said it the other day....so lucky to have these men as mentors. This PR ...brings so many different fan bases to Adam, the artist. The universe is opening up .....
Pretty cool they knocked out LMD in a couple of hours.
Belle....great catch with the interview vid.....Merci!

Nile on, there's a video! Thanks, Belle. Just watched the video. Everywhere he goes Nile is mentioning Adam and Avicii. Both Nile and Brian May have been/are such great mentors. Because of his talent, charm and integrity, Adam has built a great network. I see a great future ahead... HaHa - Stampsgal - great minds...
