RCA is soooooo behind on removing people's faces form their web site. They had Cook up there forever!! So, that is no indicator for me of anything other than they are behind. Except Cook never signed with a new label. I think legally, if Adam had been signed to a new label, RCA would be required to remove his name/picture from their roster. I just think if Adam had a new label deal, it would be public knowledge (although I could be wrong) I agree. Discussions remain private though and since he probably was not free to talk to another label until late April 2013 , I think it is likely there could be a LOI at this point but not a contract. That is assuming Adam wants another contract.

Uh guys?? What am I missing here? Chic is playing the iTunes festival. A radio station tweeted that they're hoping a "helmeted DJ" might show up. Surely they're talking about the daft punk guys(that's their thing, you rarely see their faces). I don't see any feasible Adam or avicii connection here. What am I missing?? Just a guess that Adam will also be there too. QAL need to rehearse for iHR. There is a source from over 4 weeks ago that said Adam will be part of iTunes Festival. Queen per Brian is playing a concert for TV in London -- not announced yet. Now Nile is playing iTunes in mid-Sept. All points to Adam being in London in Sept before iHR concert. I believe this is a fully loaded baked potato. I'm pretty sure the Queens concert for TV in London was debunked by some of our German readers once we got more original transcripts

Avicii on the 13th and Nile on the 14th. Peeps are hoping Adam might be a guest for either or both. I suppose some think Daft Punk ?might show up for Nile?? These are the tweets: iTunes Festival @itunesfestival Yowzah, yowzah! Chic ft. Nile Rodgers play the #iTunesFestival on 14 Sep. Could a certain helmeted DJ duo show up? tw.itunes.com/Bqj Retweeted by Energy Music Radio Adam Lambert UK @lambertuk @14gelly it's just been announced got notification via UK I tunes Adam Lambert UK @lambertuk @14gelly Avicii is playing 13 September and Chic 14 September Niles tweeted that Janelle Monae would be with him and Chic in London. That should be fun. I loved her video. Hope that wouldn't preclude Adam from a song or two there though. And Adam and Janelle working together at some point would be pretty interesting, too. (ETA: maybe when he gets that variety show we think he should have...)

What I don't know about the music business could be a book as large as War and Peace. So this question. Why would Adam not want a label?
Would independent production of his music with a distribution deal along with his current three letter what ever, DMG? bring him more creative power and money?

starcrush.com/adam-lambert-glee-role/"Four weeks ago, it was announced that vocal powerhouse Adam Lambert would be joining the singing and dancing dramedy ‘Glee,’ but it was unclear in what capacity he would be entering the show’s fifth season. Thankfully, one of the show’s stars, Chris Colfer, has a new book out (the second in his ‘Land of Stories’ fractured fairy tale novels), and while discussing that book, he revealed just what part Lambert would have to play on the new ‘Glee’ season. “Adam Lambert is joining the show, and he’s going to play my nemesis,” Colfer revealed in an interview on ‘LIVE with Kelly and Michael’ which was strangely lacking in Kelly Ripa (see video above). “I always wanted to see Kurt be mean. I know no one else does, but it’ll be fun for me,” he added, hinting that Kurt won’t take this new rivalry lying down. Essentially Lambert will be brought in as a villain to Colfer’s character, which is definitely a change of pace for a guy who lulls babies to sleep and raises money for charity. And just like that, Season 5 definitely became worth a watch."

I would LOVE an Adam/Janelle Monae collaboration. Nile, make it happen I think it's possible that Adam, at this point, isn't looking at a label. There is no urgency to get a single/album out, and he is able to just write what he wants, with whomever he wants. We have no idea how expansive his Glee role will be. Maybe the plan is to see what happens with Glee, Avecii, etc. and let things grow organically. Maybe see what position he is in next Spring. (Of course, I still want to see him backed by a major, but maybe Adam's in no rush) I think it is harder for us (or at least for me) because we don't know the long-term plan and we have no knowledge of what negotiations are going on behind the scenes.

Well... Just look at my avi. I could totally see Adam as the "villain". Plus I will never get tired of him doing "rock gawd" and then smiling as if to say "see what I can do".

Yes, being independent would give him creative and artistic freedom. He could also potentially retain more money from sales. Being an independent artist does not mean not having a label contract, just not with a "major" label.
