Finally, want to thank Melliemom who posted that tenor - Les Mis - video on page 2. Reminded me again, how exceptional and unusual Adam's voice is. If you listen just the first few seconds. The song starts out with an octave jump up, which is surely a difficult way to start a song, but this tenor, who seems like the strongest of the four actually, needs to use all his training and vocal control to hit that note, and at least to my ears it sounded like a high note at first....until I started singing that jump myself and realized, it only sounded high to my ears, because it was high in the context of this tenor's personal voice. A jump from E3 to E4 is for Adam a jump in the lower half of his range, not the upper. Adam would be able to do this E3 to E4 jump, but he would also be able to do the E4 to E5 cleanly (and has done so live, i.e. Music Again). None of these 4 trained tenors here would have any chance at trying that. The highest note in the song is an A4 (halfway between E4 and E5) and only two of the guys are singing it. Adam is completely in a league of his own, even compared to these professionals here. Given that it's a slow day, if you want to follow along with what I just wrote, here is an online piano with the keys printed on it, that you can open in a window and hit the notes while reading through the paragraph above or while playing the beginning of the song. www.play-piano.org/play_online_piano_piano.htmlIt would be beautiful to hear Adam sing that song. I went back and listened to the YouTube Mellie posted. Wouldn't you know that I came away with a very different impression. I don't keep up with musicals or these famous guys who have played the part. I think the first singer (Colm?) was using a very light voice. Maybe that's how is voice is always, or maybe he's doing it because he is, well, older and the high notes don't come like they used to. He has the least operatic voice. I thought his high notes were the weakest, but none of them had any trouble hitting them. They have distinctly different timbres and I can see why they are all known for playing this role. Adam's voice would be yet another quality altogether, not as operatic, but very powerful. BTW--I think the notes you have cited for the piano link are off. I never keep track of the octave numbers myself, but the E4-E5 leap you mention is an octave higher than what is actually sung. (However, I might be wacko.)

Colm Wilkinson, and beat-me-with-a-noodle-because-I-forget-the-name-of-the-singer-to-Colm's-right are amazing. The role [and originally that of the Phantom] were written with Colm in mind because he IS so amazing. Keep in mind that this is a really quiet, unadorned and emotion song...it is not like one you can belt out. So these notes can only be compared to Mad World or Soaked or TOMT... and Colm is over 60, singing live. Pretty damn good if you ask me and not to be sneezed at. Not exactly the same timbre as Adam [the un-named one is closer to Adam in 'brightness'] but definitely in the 'same league' IMHO. That and these guys need to sing with an operatic technique/projection/resonance, Adam can do that to some pretty high notes but when it comes to *extreme* high notes loads of guys can get up to about soprano A5 in full voice but nowhere near the quality and power of a Colm A4 or something. Very different styles so nailing a G5 in pop/rock/metal is probably relative to someone nailing a C5 in an operatic style.

Haha! Kamar, your dream reminded me that I too had a dream: the night before last I dreamt that there was evidence that LMD is going to be the next single. The evidence was a bit shady - someone from within tweeted something that he meant to send privately - but nevertheless it made me very very happy. Now I hope this dream doesn't end up like yours, kamar, ie the opposite of reality. But still, the question begs to be asked: good citizens of Adamtopia, why oh why do I dream about Avicii's next single?? It's pathetic! Have I no life of my own to dream about? (don't answer that!) I woke up astounded by the ridiculousness of that. p.s. reihmer - I found photos of you baking our cakes!

Adam Lambert Parties At The Chateau Marmont, Gets Ready For A Busy Fall Leave it to Adam Lambert to party hard on a Sunday night and look fabulous while doing it!
Well, we assume he was partying hard as the musical genius was spotted leaving LA hotspot Chateau Marmont last night (August 12). Adam was alone as the paparazzi caught him outside, which just leads me to believe that he was waiting for me to go and join him for some Sunday night partying.
OK, so probably not, but a girl can dream, eh? Really, Adam is probably just getting the partying done before he has to work like crazy soon.
Not that he doesn’t already work like crazy, but filming Glee is quite a full time commitment. Also, Adam feuding with Chris Colfer is almost enough to make me wanna watch Glee again. And it’s not just Glee he’s got going on. Adam will also be joining Queen for a performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival on September 20.
If there’s anyone that I love singing with Queen, it’s Adam. Launch the gallery to check out all the photos of his Chateau Marmont outing. Will any of you be lucky enough to see him at the festival? Let us know in the comments!

(same photos) LOVE that he's identified as "the musical genius".
