I am so happy that I have this silly grin on my face! Not sure I have been this happy/relieved about work ever before! Just got caught up reading the thoughtful posts here and I was about to add my own thoughts on this "low" period (because that's what it feels like to me - Glee & iHeart notwithstanding), but on seeing your great news those feelings flew out the window and all I can say now is: SO HAPPY FOR YOU AND CONGRATULATIONS!!! |

I can't even count the number of time I have read comments like "Why can't Adam get radio airplay like Katy and Gaga?" here, on Twitter and on other Adam forums. And, yes, even on this forum which tends to be quite realistic, people have posted that they want Adam to be bigger than Katy Perry or Lady Gaga. And how many of us would be gleefully happy to post that Adam had 6 #1 hits in a row as was the biggest star from Idol? I admit it, I would love to post that! I know it is almost impossible but would love it. *** On the "major label deal" -- Adam may or may not sign a new major label deal. It depends on what he wants to do and the best deal for him. He could sign a major label deal or a deal with an independent label that has distribution, or a deal with an independent associated with UMG or SME for global distribution. Or he could produce his own album and sign only a distribution and promotion deal. The business is changing rapidly and the major labels that remain (Sony, Universal, Warner) are producing very little new music and selling less. I am sure we will get a new album. I am convinced that it will be in the first half of 2014. And, I am pretty sure it will be the music Adam wants to release with no compromises. an interesting view point Q3. I've been reading everything I can find about the music business and from my very limited viewpoint signing with a major label, unless Adam can reinvent the contracts, I see very little advantage to him signing with the big three. I can see Adam creating a new paradigm shift in how he approaches his career and perhaps the music industry in general. I come from an industry that in the space of only a few years came from being dependent on the vagrancies of individuals to contracts that tied millions of dollars of business to one enitiiy. Business changes and I think Adam is a very smart man and has learned not only from his time in the business but has some very powerful and successful mentors to advise him. Why have a label back a tour when who knows what contacts he picked up in Asia. Why give away money on a 360 deal when he can run the merchandise himself or as a sub company of Adam enterprises. Or any other ventures he can participate in with who knows what! Tv, one offs, collaborations and movie deals. His income and success only limited by how well he makes each deal and maximizes the opportunities that comes his way, but not limited by a contract signed years before that has no correlation with his current circumstances. As you can see I have too much time on my hands. But it is fun to try to figure out the ins and outs of another business! ps congrats Q3! breaking new ground is always the most fun!! |

The Roller Coaster Series : Day 100
Wow . 100 days have passed since I started this series , and a lot , lot , LOT has happened !!
Lots of surprises . Most of which were pretty awesome . From Life Ball , to AI finale , to Glee , to RCA departure , ....Wow .
I'm more than ready for 100 more .
Well , regarding Avicii's next single not being LMD :
At first I was so disappointed . But then , I thought "Maybe this is for the best . I mean LG and KP both have dropped their singles , and I wouldn't want to fight this battle now . It is better for Adam not to be there now"
Maybe they'll release it as a single later , when the KP and LG fuzz have subsided a little bit .
AND we'll have a live rendition of it on the 19th . Glass half full 
Not I'm not weeping . LOL!!
As for Adam ... He's doing an amazing job with keeping us involved in everything he does . (Well , almost everything)
He posts pictures , tweets , blah blah , I LOVE IT .
And btw , a lot LOT of amazing things are happening right now , and fall is gonna be a very Berty season .
BUT I'll be REAL CALM AND GLEEFULLY HAPPY when Adam has a record deal .
Yes , I believe he needs it . A big record label . I've talked about this before .
And he's gonna have it . UMG .
Mark my words .

LMD could still be a single just later on This year we had a tour, two new songs in LWOG and LMD, Queen performance, and getting Glee later on. I'd say that's a pretty great haul for us stans I just hope A3 actually is out mid/late next year or 2014 might end up the second-coming of 2011 I have to agree with glampoon, just because the year isn't going to our expectations doesn't matter a damn bit (Adam isn't responsible for our expectations only his own) - this is Adam's ride and we are just passengers without the map. Am happy for whatever it throws up and will enjoy it when it comes. Even the most beautiful landscapes have stretches where the road flattens out and in those times the world has plenty of other things out there that we can enjoy. #carryon |

I remember some really dry periods, where we had nothing for weeks, WHICH DRAGGED ON INTO MONTHS. We were dangling precariously on insanity, particularly prior to the release of Trespassing. It seems we are getting a lot of info from many different sources, and I am forever grateful.
In our eyes, he is as great, if not greater than KP or Gaga. His time will come. Look at Robin Thicke, he had to fight to get his current song out there. He is the talk of radio now. So I shall wait daily for any tidbit on Adam.

I don't think Adam has shut anyone out, especially fans. He tweets or IGs almost every day! Remember, before IG, when we used to beg for photos from him? Now he does a few a week and we are begging for more tweets! LOL! As far as his face in those pics, he was walking alone, people! What do you do when you are walking alone! Smile at yourself? LOL! His pics with his friends are great! Might be a little projecting by some. I agree completely with you. Over the past few months Adam has been amazingly open with fans. He even shared the GLEE news before he was allowed to -- albeit in a secret code which we did not break. And while some of the photos are promotional, like for Marcus' new club, other are just Adam with friends. We are lucky that he is so open with fans and really appreciates the importance of fans. |
