Setting aside the B5s for a second -- I love the sweet, soft section of Trespassing from 0:49-0:56! Who sounds like this? Seriously the tone, clarity, and quality of that small bit is indescribable. [Cassie help -- what is he doing that makes it sound like that?] He's singing. hahaha. Sorry, but, that's the simple truth. That is his voice when he doesn't put power behind it, doesn't add an edge to it, doesn't add a squeeze or a rasp, doesn't add any "twang" which makes a more piercing sound. That's his natural, light, resonant voice. I LOVE IT! Honestly -- I have listened to that bit about 100 times -- I never heard anything so pure in my life.

This report appears to be based on the comment in the video posted upthread plus a rehash of old reports. **** YES! Adam Lambert returns to the studio for new album! August 15th, 2013 by Lisa McGarry Adam Lambert has finally returned to the studio and started work on his much anticipated new album. We’re pretty excited can you tell? The former American Idol runner up has been teasing the follow up to his last record ‘Trespassing’ for months, after the album was released in 2012 and brilliantly received around the world. We were treated to one new track from Glambert, when he teamed up with Avicii for his upcoming track ‘Lay Me Down’ recently, but we can’t wait to hear a whole album full of his own tunes. We know we’re not the only ones and fans have been bombarding the star on Twitter, asking when they can expect his next record, and it seems that the date could be coming pretty soon. Lambert returned to the studio to start work on his new tracks this week and shared a photo of himself standing by a microphone, drinking from a glass, with his online fans. The image is a dated one, but it has been confirmed that Adam is back in music mode and working hard on his next album this week. Fans reacted very positively and one replied to Adam saying: “@adamlambert Nice!! That photo is so exciting!!” Another said: ” @adamlambert Oh shhhhh. It sounds amazing.” We recently reported that Lambert went his separate ways from record label RCA earlier this year, because they wanted him to record an album of 80s covers while he was determined to stick with his own tunes. Speaking about the record to Billboard earlier this year Adam said: “I’m in talks, so it’s all kind of being conceptualized right now, and what we’re hoping for is maybe by the fall. It’s going to be very pop, very rock, maybe even a little dark.” Link: linkis.com/unrealitytv.co.uk/P7Fj

He's singing. hahaha. Sorry, but, that's the simple truth. That is his voice when he doesn't put power behind it, doesn't add an edge to it, doesn't add a squeeze or a rasp, doesn't add any "twang" which makes a more piercing sound. That's his natural, light, resonant voice. I LOVE IT! What do you think of hearing the bulk of Aftermath isolated? I love how the chorus sounds full-on belted (also like the head voice switches on the live versions though), shame it got buried behind all those excess harmonies and whatnot in the final mix Proof that, sometimes less IS more. I think many producers today have no idea how to work with a voice like Adam's. They are so used to PRODUCING, or creating the entire song, building layer upon layer of sound because they don't have much to work with vocally. With Adam's voice, they need to just get out of the way and record him singing. Forget all the bells and whistles and special effects. Of course, although that makes the most of Adam's unique and beautiful voice, as we have said many times, in pop music today it ain't about the voice. It's about the beat, the drive, the hook, the danceability, the familiarity, the fun. Back in the Jurassic period when I was young, I went to a concert to see/hear the singer or the band or the orchestra PERFORM LIVE. When I see these YTs of an Avicii "concert" with NO singers, NO musicians, NOTHING performed, I shake my head in puzzlement. To me, that is not a concert, that's a dance party. A rave. Nothing wrong with that as an activity, but, the idea of selling tickets for big bucks to go to a dance party.... what can I say? I sound like my grandmother complaining about "kids these days."

Hi everyone!! I'm the guy who did these acoustic versions, I came across this forum and, first of all, I would sincerely like to thank EACH and EVERY one of you for all the kind words, over here and on Twitter! I'm truly extremely happy that these Adam versions - some of my favorite ones out of all the acoustic remixes I've made - finally got to be heard by his fans and that you guys are enjoying it!
Aftermath especially - it would kind of piss me off that while originally recorded a 5+min track with so many vocals and harmonies, a full choir (!) behind it and a gorgeous string accompaniment, so much of it was left out of the final mix and had never seen the light of day!
For Aftermath, as pointed out, I've used his unprocessed vocal, along with the acoustic guitar and the live strings for the last chorus. For Trespassing, I've put them on top of the instrumental of "Metal & Wood" by Tyrone Wells (such a cute song!) - the difference there is that all vocals are in the album mix, many of them unfortunately buried among all these layers.
I can't wait to finish more acoustic versions for other tracks, and hope you enjoy these too! Once again, my most sincere THANK YOU to all of you!!
