Setting aside the B5s for a second -- I love the sweet, soft section of Trespassing from 0:49-0:56! Who sounds like this? Seriously the tone, clarity, and quality of that small bit is indescribable. [Cassie help -- what is he doing that makes it sound like that?] He's singing. hahaha. Sorry, but, that's the simple truth. That is his voice when he doesn't put power behind it, doesn't add an edge to it, doesn't add a squeeze or a rasp, doesn't add any "twang" which makes a more piercing sound. That's his natural, light, resonant voice. I LOVE IT! What do you think of hearing the bulk of Aftermath isolated? I love how the chorus sounds full-on belted (also like the head voice switches on the live versions though), shame it got buried behind all those excess harmonies and whatnot in the final mix |
