If Adam has a secret Twitter Account, please leave it secret. Just like his personal Facebook account, home address, car license plate, etc., I believe there need to be some boundaries and this site will abide by those boundaries.
Adam shares so much with fans, to maintain that level of trust and sharing, we need to return that openness by granting him some privacy.

Do the artists get paid for doing the IHeart concert in Vegas,, specifically does Adam get paid..? Yes, artists get paid. Adam's payment is probably up to Queen but they certainly would treat Adam well. |

There is an article in the new Rolling Stone about Macklemore. I'm not familiar with their music, but the story told about how popular they are, and how hard they try to please their fans and be kind to them. There was an anecdote that told how fans congregated at some spot where the band had business (not a performance), determined to get a glimpse. The question was "What the hell do they want?" I wonder that sometimes too. What the hell do some people want from Adam or whoever it is they stan? Do they want to leach every ounce of life and individuality out of the person, like an emotional vampire? And then wonder mockingly why Lady Gaga went crazy over the weekend. I don't wonder. I'm just surprised it doesn't happen more often. I cannot answer the fan question except to say it is clearly not the same for all fans. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are hugely important in the world of music and their success is considered a model for future artist -- they were successful without a major label EVEN ON US RADIO. They are part of the reason that I believe Adam may stay an independent artist. Adam is clearly not a fan of label politics and could build a promotional platform on TV and online where the label association is meaningless. I just went to see the Gaga video....I like it! She has guts and vision...you have to give her that. We decry the vanilla sameness of everything on the radio and yet when someone really does something original and 'out there' and it gets generally bashed. I am always surprised when that happens... I don't think it has the musicality of her big hits....I doubt I will buy it...but I do applaud her willingness to take hits, albeit, she seems to be cracking under the sledge hammers that have been thrown at her of late. She could have sung the Ave Maria and people would have hated it so.....
Re using the drag queens....there were clearly multiple cameras everywhere....the queens seemed to have been filmed from back stage as well as onstage and over an extended time. They were filmed with Gaga, some without full drag on...or clean faces....how can they be surprised at being in the video....if they had decided to post their posings with Gaga and put it into a video as part of their 'portfolio', and posted it on youtube....would Gaga be allowed to sue them? Totally agree it is wrong not to get them to sign off but seems a little odd they would be unaware that much footage would not be used.....something seems off here....have all the queens taken offence or just Detox? And never thought I would see the day Perez would be situated as the maligned victim!! lol....
I am no lil Monster at all...I felt for Britney when she was hounded into a broken ball of broken sad and I hate to see the media and public do this to someone, regardless. I think they can all stand it for awhile and then there is a tipping point and it is like that cut that draws blood and attracts every shark in the water, to feed off the remains. And then laugh at having brought the 'big one' down.
I really hope that they never decide to bring Adam down that way....perhaps we should not want him to get high enough to attract that level of attack....the AMA shit was bad enough...imagine if he had been huge before that....they would have eviscerated him and used his bones for toothpicks...
We Glamberts get a lot of derision because of our age and gender but those attributes are part of our loyalty and ferocity too....I think it is really good that the majority of us here are intelligent and empathic enough to stay clear of the mudslinging that seems to be making the rounds from Gaga fans...and I think Adam knows and appreciates that also. And YEAH....we should get a stream of Adam, Nile and Avicii this evening....how great is that!! I am excited.....and really really excited for Glee....Life is good!!

Just kidding , but during this somewhat slower news period, I have found it actually seems harder to keep up. ETA: It is not clear from Adam's tweet how he got the news but it seems likely that he got told before the tweet -- but could not mention it until announced. ETA 2: If Gaga's people did not get releases from the people in that video, they can be sued. It is for commercial purpose. No fair use or news exclusion applies. I am shocked they would make a mistake like that. And if one of the drag queens used Gaga video for commercial purposes without permission, they could be in all kinds of trouble. It is so easy to get permission, no reason to skip this critical step. |
