one lucky cat: Nile Rodgers @nilerodgers 1m I guess our music is not so exciting to cats. fb.me/6sjilyDoK Nile is 100% pure win! I love the stuff he keeps up apprised of! I can't see Adam tweeting the pic of the cat. My cats like to sit on my (key)board too.

What is Adam holding in that studio pic that Nile took? Is that his vaporizer thing, or a pen, along with his phone I think? It almost looks like he's sleeping in his chair, but I guess he's just reading, or scrolling twitter

Jimmy Iovine Leaves Idol, Randy Jackson to Replace Him as Idol In-House Mentor —
August 22, 2013 at 12:27AM EDT by Chako Suzuki Related: American Idol, Jimmy Iovine, Randy Jackson, News, American Idol 2014 Season 13 Jimmy Iovine Speaks at the Launch of VEVO on December 8, 2009 In-house mentor Jimmy Iovine just made it to the top of the list of big changes on American Idol. We're certainly going to miss those blue-tinted lenses, but the gaping hole Jimmy (and his colored glasses) are going to leave might be filled with a familiar face. Deadline.com is reporting that the in-house mentor spot might just be filled by none other than Randy Jackson. Yes, the same Randy Jackson who announced he was leaving Idol back in May. More details to follow! Well if this is true, I am really looking forward to watching The Fall Voice this spring. ETA: I just corrected by typo -- or was it a late night Freudian slip?

Woohoo for Lynne! I'm going to go too, but I'm seriously bummed about these hotel packages that I didn't know about or think were possible the other day when I got my nosebleed seat :( You are going to be there Duchess right????

Now he's going to mentor and actually have useful direction to give? It just sounds like it's going to be so bad. I wonder if they are having trouble finding anyone who wants to be on the show.

I was never impressed with Jimmy as mentor, but I didn't watch much of Idol after Adam's season, for obvious reasons. But Randy as a mentor? Really? He gave such insightful, on-target, helpful feedback as a judge.....NOT! Surely they are not serious about that, are they? Well, they brought JLo back, so I guess they are that clueless.
Now, I know someone who would make an awesome mentor. Who has amazing vocal technique, who knows how to change up a song we have heard a million times and make it fresh and new, who knows what is happening in the music scene now, who knows all about staging, lighting and performance, who knows what the contestants are going thru, and who knows how to give honest feedback with a smile and encouragement. And, he has said he would be interested in returning to Idol. He would be perfect for the job. The job would be perfect for him. Which means the Idol powers that be will never consider him. Their loss (and the contestants' loss).
