8.22.13 Studio Day 2: Behind-the-scenes Nile, Avicii & Adam!

I was never impressed with Jimmy as mentor, but I didn't watch much of Idol after Adam's season, for obvious reasons. But Randy as a mentor? Really? He gave such insightful, on-target, helpful feedback as a judge.....NOT! Surely they are not serious about that, are they? Well, they brought JLo back, so I guess they are that clueless.

Now, I know someone who would make an awesome mentor. Who has amazing vocal technique, who knows how to change up a song we have heard a million times and make it fresh and new, who knows what is happening in the music scene now, who knows all about staging, lighting and performance, who knows what the contestants are going thru, and who knows how to give honest feedback with a smile and encouragement. And, he has said he would be interested in returning to Idol. He would be perfect for the job. The job would be perfect for him. Which means the Idol powers that be will never consider him. Their loss (and the contestants' loss).

Adam Lambert, Avicii and Nile Rodgers record "crazy ass song"

Adam Lambert has made a "crazy" song with Avicii and Nile Rodgers.

The musical trio previously teamed up for the track 'Lay Me Down', which will feature on Avicii's forthcoming album 'True'.

However, it seems they are coming back for seconds as they work on more new material.

Guitarist Nile Rodgers has updated his Twitter with a series of photos of the trio in the studio as they come up with some fresh tracks.

One sees the Chic man alongside Lambert and Avicii after recording a "crazy ass" song, whilst another pictures the 'Tresspassing' star relaxing during takes.

It is unclear what project the material may be for, but Lambert's rep recently revealed to Pressparty that he was back in the studio working on his own music.
