Just 100%Glambert №① @agneskrasij 20mVery interesting! From my Riversip Celebrity News app - I thought you might like it: allieiswired.com/archives/2013/08/miley-cyrus-says-im-not-britney-spears-or-amy-winehouse … 8/27/2013 by Allie Miley Cyrus Says 'I'm Not Britney Spears or Amy Winehouse'
Miley Cyrus wasn’t on drugs during her MTV VMAs performance, she was only acting. Cyrus was criticized for “twerking” with fellow performer Robin Thicke and for using references to “Mandy”(MDMA) and cocaine during her performance, which were beeped out by MTV during its broadcast of the awards ceremony. The singer responded to critics today saying, “I wasn’t on drugs at all, I just wanted people to think I was. It was an act, I mean for God’s sake I’m not Britney Spears or Amy Winehouse.” “I really want to break into the EDM scene. It’s become so popular and I just love Deadmau5, Skrillex, Steve Aoki and the rest of those guys, not David Guetta though, his stuff is way too commercial for me. I was hoping that if one of those guys thought I was a slutty, junky, they would want to do a collaboration with me,” she continued. And about twerking with Robin Thicke she said: ” Did people really think I was seriously twerking on Robin Thicke. Eww, he’s like 36 or something that’s totally gross.” Read more: allieiswired.com/archives/2013/08/miley-cyrus-says-im-not-britney-spears-or-amy-winehouse/#ixzz2dCWxv7FJ

So Poorly executed. Should fire her costumers. DH took exception mainly to the Teddy Bears; to him it resonated as trying to attract children. My view point was that it was disjointed and so busy you lost your place in the action.
Misogynistic, but I doubt that her age group even realizes it. My generation took sledge hammers to the glass ceiling and it still is only cracked and broken in a few places. No recoil for song. I agree with Lindag the song is really really bad on many levels. But, imho casual listeners don’t hear the lyrics or see the video to know how bad it is.
Adam. I respect him so much for his support of Miley. He has been through it and like Cassie said he was probably more offended by the frequent bad singing. Loved his expression when his nominee made absolutely no sense! One of the few times I’ve seen his professional face slip. If the lash out from his AMA performance made him cry, imagine what it can do to a 20 year old.
I like Miley. I remember the song she sang at the Diva’s, BILLY IDOL’s rebel Yell. I loved her interpretation. So it is with hope that she will find a path that doesn’t emulate the naked, sexual stereotypes that are her mentors but that is a long shot.

Logged in to comment: I don't watch much TV, and the little bit it was on today I saw shows still talking about Miley. And some of the people/parents were complaining about "Hannah Montana"... blah, blah, blah and oh the children... So yeah, she has an uphill battle to shake that role. I don't agree or disagree with how she is doing it, except to say that at my age now I cringed a bit, but if I were here age - I don't think I would give a shit, and probably would have laughed at how stupid and outrageous it was. But I delurked to say this: Perhaps Adam is trying to deflect a little for Miley because he has been there - the shit storm following a performance. So if anyone understands, seems Adam would. And perhaps he wished someone would stand up and show him some support when the shit hit his fan - but don't recall anyone did. He was all alone, except for his stellar fans! Us! So I admire Adam for having the balls to come out and say something, even if he gets some of the Miley shit... And then, as now, some will probably unfollow him, but life will go on. Miley will act out until she matures a little more and finds her place. I tend to root for the Underdog - hence fighting for Adam - and so the same applies for Miley. I think underneath it all, she is a good person, at least I hope so. Adam lived through it and so will Miley... Also, this is cable and people can turn the channel. If my son were still young and in the house and I knew he saw this - perhaps this is a good opportunity to start a conversation. There is a much bigger issue here - the glorification of women for the use of male pleasure and etc... and if this starts that type of conversation then in the long run could be helpful. Remember how people felt after Adam's performance and all the shit he got - but the conversation at ensued was, in the long run, a good thing. I always say... wait 6 months and look back - then we will know if it has any significance or was suppose to happen to start a larger dialog... Personally, I am more upset about Robin T role in this and he is not getting any flack - is he? He is much more sleazy IMHO then Miley and he is the adult in that room... so where is the accountability. Am I a bad person that I am Happy that blurred lines didn't win anything:-) Rhetorical question there.... Heathcliff, I too am a contrarian:-) Well said, adamfanem, and I agree. But if I recall correctly, both Ellen and Jay Leno defended Adam at the time...although perhaps not on Twitter.
