Lambert's name has been kicking around for a couple of seasons now as a potential judge, and we're not quite sure why it hasn't happened yet. What better way to give the panel a shot in the arm than with someone who's experienced the competition from the other side? Think of the insight we'd get, not to mention the potential takeaways for contestants. Plus, he brings both pop and dance credibility to the table, and a youthful edge the panel sorely needs.

I agree with you about Putin. If you look at his history, you can see he had ties to the old regime and I believe he wants to re-create it. However, the whole world is watching with social media now, and I hope that he will not be successful. The outrage over the olympics keeps on going--and growing. One can only hope that at some point reason will win out. I don't think it will be soon, though. Sad. I think of the Russian Glamberts and the LGBT community there always.
