3rd day of Electric Zoo EDM festival cancelled. This is the event that Avicii played at on Friday.
The founders of Electric Zoo send our deepest condolences to the families of the two people who passed away this weekend. Because there is nothing more important to us than our patrons, we have decided in consultation with the New York City Parks Department that there will be no show today.

Definitely photoshopped, but not by the authors of the article. This altered pic has been all over the internet and fan sites for years. But they probably didn't know that. And he is a ginger, tho there are no adult pics of him as a natural ginger since Brigadoon, to my recollection. So, no harm done using this pic. But I kinda wish they had used this one:

"Smile. I just said basically the same thing on yesterday's thread. A singer, instrumentalist or actor takes classes, pays for a teacher/mentor/coach in order to improve, not to have their ego stroked. A performer who doesn't take feedback well and doesn't improve from it soon finds herself out of a job, back to waiting tables."
This wasn't private feedback at an audition or in a class, one is attending. It was being filmed for a TV show that people would be voting on. IMO, he was nothing more than a bully. And if he wanted to get the point across about understanding the lyrics, he certainly could have done it in a "mentoring" way. I didn't even like Amber but that whole session made me cringe for her. OFC, that part didn't have to be put into the actual show because I believe she said in her Slezak interview, they spent about an hour together. Why Idol wanted to throw her under the bus that week, after pimping & praising poorer performance previously, I have no idea! But it worked. She was the talk of the blogs as being "dumb" and clueless and got eliminated!

I think you make a really strong point here mys*&@^#r....I would only add that in the process of manipulating Amber off, they produced the 'collateral damage' of making Harry look like a bully...which may be just as unfair as what they did to her. It is this blatent manipulation of results that alienated the fans so much that they simply abandoned the show. While it was so obvious you had to be, as my mother used to say: "dim, damned dumb and blind" not to see the manipulation re the guys, it was a little less clear that they were also systematically doing that to the girls as well. I suspect they felt they had to eliminate one of the African American girls to avoid an Amber/Candace finish....and they really wanted Kree in there to rep the country bunch without alienating the core audience as she was more mainstream/less full on country...and they remembered the backlash of two country finalists from season 10[?].... Isn't the whole thing ridiculous!!?? And they do not see that the biggest problem is their insistence on manipulating things instead of just making the voting process more valid....good grief... As a side point and totally unimportant and OTT....We in Canada also are celebrating Labour day long weekend....not just the US. :-)
