Lorde's hot track "Royals" is definitely not my cup of tea! But apparently, it has struck a chord with massive listeners, excluding me of course. On the other hand, I can't get "Summertime Sadness" out of my head, and "Wake Me Up" has become one of my favorite road songs! And...I need Adam's LMD like yesterday! Adam's raw vocal and Nile's funky guitar...absolutely freakin' delicious! Can't wait to see how it's gonna perform, as a non-single track...

IN THE P!NK DOWN UNDER: Pardon the suggestive tone of the heading (damn, we just did it again). We simply wanted to point out some impressive stats from P!nk's just-completed The Truth About Love Australian tour, made available (for reasons that will soon be obvious) by Live Nation. The RCA superstar racked up 46 sellouts in front of 600k+ fans, including a record 18 shows at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena, accounting for 250k of that total. Her eight shows at the Sydney Entertainment Centre broke the venue's record for most performances by a female, previously held by Aussie native Kylie Minogue. Her four subsequent dates at Sydney's Allphones Arena broke that hall's record for most tickets sales by a solo artist with 67k+, breaking the record held by Britney Spears' 2009 The Circus tour. Additionally, P!nk now holds the record for the top four attended events at Perth Arena, as well as the record for the most performances by any act and tour, while she drew nearly 100k to eight sellouts at Brisbane Entertainment Centre. In classic synergistic fashion, the excitement generated by the tour powered The Truth About Love back to #1 spot for a 10th week, which happened to be 51 weeks after release. Clearly, the girl is as popular among Aussies as Vegemite ( ), and that's saying something. ================================================= HAMMER TIME: 19.3 million views in 24 hours. We'll say that again: 19.3 million views in 24 hours. That's what RCA's Miley Cyrus has earned on VEVO for the gobsmacking video that accompanies her new single, "Wrecking Ball," which has also catapulted the song to the top of the iTunes singles chart. In the clip, which is already generating tons of controversy (and responses from the pervy to the puritanical to the puzzled), Cyrus rides naked on a wrecking ball, runs her tongue over a sledgehammer, and weeps, because she's sad. But whatever you may say about the vid, it has reclaimed the one-day viewershp crown from SYCO/Columbia's One Direction, whose "Best Song Ever" snagged 12.3m views in July, eclipsing, wait for it...Miley, the previous record-holder for the bodacious "We Can't Stop." Now sit back, relax, and prepare to understand why millions of kids around the world wish they could be a sledgehammer for just one day. ================================================== YOUR NEW RELEASES: After one day of sales, it looks like we might have another close race this week for #1. We're giving the edge to Keith Urban for the moment, but keep checking back here for updates. Here are this week's key debuts: Keith Urban (Capitol Nashville) 100-110k The Weeknd (XO/Republic) 90-100k 2 Chainz (Def Jam/IDJ) 55-65k Janelle Monae (Bad Boy/Atlantic) 45-50k Arctic Monkeys (Domino) 35-40k Sheryl Crow (Warner Bros. Nashville) 30-35kEarth Wind & Fire (Legacy) 22-25k Rise Against (Interscope) 17-20k Kaskade (Ultra) 15-17k Gloria Estefan (Sony Masterworks) 14-16kY'know, writing this stuff while riding naked on a wrecking ball isn't as easy as we thought it would be. source: www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/rumormill.cgi?10

When she and the background drags out "Roooooooooooyaaaaaaaaals" I could just scream! The first time I heard it I thought it was different and cool. Then I listened again and thought, "Man, this song annoys the hell out of me!" LOL!

A screen cap of Finland iTunes shortly (think less than 36 hours?) after Avicii's album "True" debuted, which should not come as a surprise.

Miley Cyrus' 'Wrecking Ball' Swings Atop Hot 100 The song becomes Cyrus' first No. 1 on the chart, blasting 22-1 on the strength of lofty streaming and sales totals following the release of its much buzzed-about videoCyrus previously rose as high as No. 2 on the Hot 100 with two songs: prior single "We Can't Stop" and 2009's "Party in the U.S.A." The suggestive video for "Ball" made a record-breaking start, drawing 19.3 million global VEVO views in its first 24 hours following its Sept. 9 posting. With the Hot 100's streaming component encompassing U.S.-only views for VEVO videos on YouTube, among streams on other services, the song soars 21-1 on Streaming Songs with a 1,565% gain to 36.5 million streams in the chart's tracking week, according to Nielsen BDS. Of that sum 92% are from YouTube views. "Ball" concurrently crowns the subscription services-based On-Demand Songs chart, vaulting 18-1 with a 275% increase to 2.8 million, the highest total in the chart's 18-month history. Given the buzz surrounding "Ball" and its video, it's no surprise that the song charges 10-1 on Digital Songs with 477,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. (It's her second Digital Songs No. 1, following "Party," which led for six weeks.) The sum is a new best for Cyrus, passing the 285,000 that "Party" sold over Christmas week 2009. It's also the second-best total this year: Perry's "Roar" opened with 557,000 four weeks ago. Last week, "Roar" benefitted from the premiere of its video on Sept. 5, which helped spur a 33% gain in streaming. This week, "Roar" backtracks 1-2 on Streaming Songs (8.9 million, down 26%) and 1-2 Digital Songs (331,000, down 11%). Lorde makes it three women in the Hot 100's top three, as "Royals" ranks at No. 3 for a second week. The song shows a 17% increase to 263,000 downloads sold (although it retreats 2-3 on Digital Songs); jumps 8-5 on Streaming Songs (5 million, up 25%); and reaches the Radio Songs top 10 (13-5; 89 million, up 25%). As reported Monday, with its sixth week atop Alternative Songs, "Royals" becomes the longest-leading No. 1 by a lead woman in the chart's 25-year history, passing Alanis Morissette's "You Oughta Know." "Royals" tops Hot Rock Songs for a third week. ********************************* ********************************* For the complete article, go to www.billboard.com/articles/news/5695590/miley-cyrus-wrecking-ball-swings-to-top-of-hot-100
