Curious - where did the red hat picture come from ?
Hope I'm in the right place to comment on this message.
Just returned home from Home.
Pictures will say more than I.
Actually, four of the photos above are from the Playa.
This year, 'the man' was atop a structure that resembled a UFO. Inside were computerized creatures and interactive things that defy description. Us earthlings could exit the vehicle via slides; they were steep and fast, and I treated more than one 'rug burn'.
The 'Wolf', in my opinion, was the most breathtaking sculpture on the Playa. It was imagined and created by an artist from Glen Ellen - just a few miles away from me! Beginning of the week, the wolf's head would rotate around. Too many people fell from the wolf's ears, so, in the end, the amazing artwork was at a standstill; a stark, revealing image that remained immobile and stable - unlike the unpredictable fluidity of the wolf. Still breathtaking. We left a sign that said 'climb at your own risk'. Last time I was there, a communion took place in his gut.
I don't know much about the artist for 'like' ~ except that we rode our bikes by the construction of this simple statement on Monday. Amazing.
As for the gorgeous, mindboggling woman . . . I think she is called 'Truth is Beauty'. Good heavens - all that is amazing and wondrous on this earth cannot be more magnificent than this image, framed in the early sunrise over Black Rock Mountain, with a trail of balloons following the wind off her fingertips. I wish you could see how the artist sculpted her toenails. Perfection. As I rode my bike around the base of her, I felt the strength and beauty of being female. Her body is a celebration.
I'm home. And I'm missing 'Home', already. LindaG23 - you were right in your weather observations. This year had little wind, little dust. The daytime temps were in the 80s with a little breeze. It was PERFECT. I'm glad Adam clued himself in on the experience. Once there, it's hard to be away during the burn. The dust finds you. Remembers you; just as you remember, too.
Anyone interested, please find the burningman sites - the videos and photographs of this experience are there. Are you? I hope so!
