Cleaning out some old files and ran across this: High Flight by John Gillespie Magee, Jr. Adam dances the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward he has climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun-split clouds...and done a hundred things you have not dreamed of, Up, up, the long, delirious burning blue He topped the windswept heights with easy grace Where never lark, nor even eagle flew. And while with lifting voice and out stretched arms He reached for the untrespassed sanctity of space... ...put out his hand and touched our souls with beauty, voice and grace.
Just want to point out that somone has changed the original poem by John Gillespie Magee, Jr. He was an American pilot serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force during the early years of WW2 and died in a training accident. It is a lovely poem and I like the above interpretation. "High Flight" Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there, I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air.... Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew — And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod The high untrespassed sanctity of space, - Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Chande happy Bert.. @chande87 2hMiley & Robin this is making HISTORY @adamlambert @queenwillrock @iheartradio Music Festival! #ShowMustGoOn pic.twitter.com/PHDkG3iK4w Seriously. I don't understand what Cyrus was referring to when she made the comment that Robin and her were "making history"....foam finger history? tongue history? twerk history? I still don't get from which part of performance that she is making any kind of relevant "history". It was a crazy busy performance but history-making? What am I missing?
