Cleaning out some old files and ran across this: High Flight
by John Gillespie Magee, Jr.
Adam dances the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward he has climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds...and done a hundred things you have not dreamed of,
Up, up, the long, delirious burning blue
He topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, nor even eagle flew.
And while with lifting voice and out stretched arms
He reached for the untrespassed sanctity of space...
...put out his hand and touched our souls with beauty, voice and grace.
Just want to point out that somone has changed the original poem by John Gillespie Magee, Jr. He was an American pilot serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force during the early years of WW2 and died in a training accident. It is a lovely poem and I like the above interpretation. "High Flight" Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there, I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air.... Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew — And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod The high untrespassed sanctity of space, - Put out my hand, and touched the face of God. I remember being moved to tears when President Reagan used some of these beautiful words in his memorial for the fallen astronauts.  |

He could certainly handle the singing JMHO...I'm all for Adam fronting Queen for occasional concerts but I really don't want Adam to play Freddie in a movie. I love Adam respectfully paying homage to Freddie and the Queen song catalog and AMAZING everyone that sees Adam/Queen on stage but I don't want Adam to imitate Freddie. Adam is ADAM...not Freddie. I love Adam putting his own 'spin'..his own charismatic touch on the Queen songs. ETA: I'm ready Johnny Depp to play Freddie!

I waited patiently for all the tourists to leave so the beach would be serene, for the temperature to drop into the 80s, for a quiet Adam time so I don't feel as though I am missing something if I don't have my computer on my lap............ and my daughter calls with an airline ticket for me to come to Pittsburgh for a few weeks. YES, I love my grandkids, YES I want to see my mom and sister, but it doesn't mean I'm not gonna whine just a little....... not to them, ofc, that's what y'all are for. I did already warn her than 9/20 was off limits for any late nite responsibilities and that if there was something to DVR, I would do it, save it, protect it, and watch it when I am there again. I'm hoping for a plethora of Adam appearances in anticipation of GLEE.

Thanks for sharing this - Had never read - Have now copied and saved. Zebra pants - Awesome!!! Yes, love the original of the poem. It is very moving and filled with anticipation, love, and what may be. |

Hitler made history . but in a bad way . Now I'm not comparing Miley Cyrus to Hitler , LOL , but she did make history , in a bad , ridic , trashy , obnoxious , Ew , kind of way .

Always thought the photos from this session were a bit harsh/not creative. It seems like the direction given to Adam was to be intense, serious, focused - that is OK but he didn't carry it off that well. He needed some room to play. JMHO. I Know - he needed to wear the silver zebra pants!!! Just trying to entertain mayself while I wait for Xfinity to fix my wifi and phone line after receiving new set up. Just makes me crazy.
