Vocal powerhouse Adam Lambert is set to reunite with Queen later this month at the iHeart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas and believes the late Freddie Mercury would approve of his performance as the band's temporary frontman. The event will be held on September 20 and 21 in Sin City, and speaking to Wild 106.1FM about stepping into the challenging role he confessed that after talking with the remaining members of the iconic rock band he feels reassured that Mercury would have liked him: "I think he’d be down. Brian, Roger and the band, they’ve been really cool about telling me stories about Freddie — and kind of letting me into the kind of guy that he was." "They always keep saying: ‘Oh, you guys would have gotten such a kick out of each other. You probably would have made each other laugh.’ It’s quite a compliment.” Despite being confident about performing Queen's songs, Lambert added that Mercury is completely irreplaceable: "There will only be one Freddie Mercury. There’s really no comparing. I’m just up there when I sing those songs, just trying to kind of pay tribute.” |

Ideas to combat the doldrums- Each year several members create their own personal Adam calendar for the upcoming year. Since Adam has many "looks" we could select a few different themes, members could post favorite pics relating to that theme, and members could vote for pictures to be included in the calendar. The results could be put together and have our own Atop 2014 Adam Calendar. Members could then use the final selections (or pick and choose their own favorites) to order their own calendar from whatever source they wish (Walmart, Costco, etc) Some themes could be favorite fan art, favorite performance pics, best Melvin, best happy face, best picture that matches the month/season, anyway, you get idea. Just trying to give us something to do plus we might discover some unseen or obscure photos. PS - dancygeorgia - what is your fabulous prize for the green shirt picture win.  So fabulous that she does not know yet!  She will find out when it arrives!! I'm hoping for a QueenBert ticket!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Speaking of Queenbert, will the iHeart stream be audio only or will it be video as well? And when they televise it on the CW, does anyone know if the entire Queenbert performance will be shown, or just parts of it, mixed in with other performers? #crossingmyfingersforeverything! |
