Adam Lambert asks fans to 'take a pledge' and support the LGBT community with The Trevor Project
Vocal powerhouse Adam Lambert has called for fans to help support The Trevor Project by watching a new promotional video that informs viewers how to help a friend in crisis.
Lambert took to his official Twitter page earlier this evening (September 10) and tweeted to his 2 million followers: "Join me and take the @trevorproject #TalkToMe pledge today! Watch and share."
The new clip shows a host of celebrities talking directly to the camera about being there for loved ones who may need support with issues relating to gender identity and sexual orientation. The video explains:
"I pledge to let my friends know they can talk to me. Be respectful and supportive of everyone regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity. To listen with an open mind and without jugdment, take what people say seriously, check in with friends who may need to talk. Help a friend call the Trevor Lifeline if they are in crisis. Tell a person I trust if I think someone is considering suicide."
Earlier this year, the 'Trespassing' superstar partnered with The Trevor Project and encouraged fans to enter a contest in order to win a meet and greet with him. He also asked fans to retweet a message he posted and each time a Twitter user did so, AT&T would donate 50¢ to the charitable organisation.
