I was reading the "other place", and they thought it was highly unlikely LMD could get a Grammy nom because of timing. It has to be released by the end of this month, and it's usually the first two singles that get nominated. Also, Avicii's first single would likely get a nomination, and it's rare to have two singles nominated. I think that's really, really unfortunate because Adam could have been performing at the next Grammy's (assuming LMD really hits it big in the US). So, Aloe Blacc likely to be singing with Avicii at the next Grammy's... Pretty sure that LMD being released as a single after 9/30 makes it eligible for a Grammy next year. Why would he even want 2 of his songs competing against each other this year? As a matter of fact, that very thing is reason enough to release it after 9/30. q3, need your input here. It is very unlikely that LMD is released as a single in the US before 9/30/13. I put the odds at 0.000000000001%. It is not even the top selling non-single track on TRUE -- it is #3. I am not sure that LMD will even be released as a single. Regarding the Grammys -- LMD could be nominated as "Best Dance Recording" but I think it is not too likely (* see below). Here are the rules -- it does not need to be released as a single. * LMD first needs to be played in US Clubs and then it needs to chart on the club play chart. Then it needs to be picked by the label as the Avicii dance track they want to nominate. Sometimes it is hard to figure out what will get pushed for a Grammy nomination but with Avicii it is easy. "Wake Me Up" is his song of the year, and it will be put on the nomination ballot in the main and the pop categories. And of course there is True. ** My recommendation is that regarding LMD -- forget about the Grammys. Not happening.

The Idol producers and I think the judges knew Adam was at risk. Simon even said something to the effect after Adam did Ring of Fire. Adam fans were wrapped up in their love of him and many (looking in the mirror) did not realize that Adam fans were not organized to vote and get other people to vote for him. In the meantime, Kris had support among the core Idol audience who knew how to get the votes in, and he had some superfans who put together KrisAllenNation.com with a primary mission to get out the vote. The Adam fans learned how to vote and be organized after Idol. Actually, Adam got lot of credit for how gracious he was to Kris online and in the press. If Kris superfans were so organized to get him the votes/win, why didn't they apply that to buying his album? I think I read that Clay fans were well organized in buying his first album - ? Clay's big selling albums were released in the pre-digital track era, not comparable to post-digital. But Clay had a lot of fans most of whom moved on or are now too old to buy music. (Many grandma fans.) The way Idol works is that 3,000 people with AT&T phones can cast 10,000 votes each giving you 30,000,000 votes but they won't buy more than about 20,000 to 50,000 albums. The biggest proof that Kris won based upon power voting is his anemic album sales. [It took about 50 million votes to win Season 8.]

If it can get a nomination next year, that means Adam has to wait for 2015 to perform it with Avicii at the Grammy's right? I guess I'm being a glamhopper (does that mean I'm impatient?). I am hoping for Adam's music to come out in 2014 , under his own name, from his own album and be nominated. Me too.

They can organized votes but I think his fan base are not as big as Adam's, so the album sales is actually showed how small his fan base is. Plus Adam has fans outside IdolLand.

Adam fans seem really, really smart. Why couldn't they have figured out the voting technique like Kris fans. I wonder if that's how Kris beat Danny as Ryan and Simon thought Danny had a huge fan base. Remember when Ryan and judges were on Jay Leno, and they had to put a name on a piece of paper predicting S8 winner? At that time everyone still thought it would be Danny vs Adam in the finale. Jay never had a followup show. I had always wondered what names they each wrote.

I just checked the Dance category records for the Grammys and Gaga had songs nominated 3 years in a row. So LMD could be nominated next year (2015.) i don't understand why you are so negative about the possibility of LMD as a single, Q3. I mean Avicii himself said it was his favorite track. I'm not saying it will be a single, but before it even gets released, I sure am not saying it won't. With all the press LMD is getting, the great reviews, and the hotness of Nile I am VERY optimistic about its chances!

Off topic - I put a few posts on the Burning Man thread, but not sure if anyone goes there anymore. Afraid I'm just talking to myself. Let me know if you'd like more about B. Man 2013. Thanks.
