I was reading the "other place", and they thought it was highly unlikely LMD could get a Grammy nom because of timing. It has to be released by the end of this month, and it's usually the first two singles that get nominated. Also, Avicii's first single would likely get a nomination, and it's rare to have two singles nominated. I think that's really, really unfortunate because Adam could have been performing at the next Grammy's (assuming LMD really hits it big in the US). So, Aloe Blacc likely to be singing with Avicii at the next Grammy's... Pretty sure that LMD being released as a single after 9/30 makes it eligible for a Grammy next year. Why would he even want 2 of his songs competing against each other this year? As a matter of fact, that very thing is reason enough to release it after 9/30. q3, need your input here.

The Idol producers and I think the judges knew Adam was at risk. Simon even said something to the effect after Adam did Ring of Fire. Adam fans were wrapped up in their love of him and many (looking in the mirror) did not realize that Adam fans were not organized to vote and get other people to vote for him. In the meantime, Kris had support among the core Idol audience who knew how to get the votes in, and he had some superfans who put together KrisAllenNation.com with a primary mission to get out the vote. The Adam fans learned how to vote and be organized after Idol. Actually, Adam got lot of credit for how gracious he was to Kris online and in the press. If Kris superfans were so organized to get him the votes/win, why didn't they apply that to buying his album? I think I read that Clay fans were well organized in buying his first album - ?

This weeks little treasures that reminded me of Adam. This bittersweet video that went viral...Russian Army Choir sings Adele's Skyfall with a talented and sensitive lead singer (the icky show hosts seem to be making fun of them as they are singing beautifully) and Georges Barbier...

Adam's goal was simply to stay on Idol until the end -- to build a fanbase. He talked about it after the finale. And years later, I am so glad he did not win the crown. If he had won Idol, the pressures on him would have been so great, that I am not sure even Adam could have handled the whole circus and all the expectations and the political pressures. I think Adam was under much more scrutiny than the winner that first year. I don't think winning would have been any worse. I am glad he didn't win though

If it can get a nomination next year, that means Adam has to wait for 2015 to perform it with Avicii at the Grammy's right? I guess I'm being a glamhopper (does that mean I'm impatient?).

What would it take for LayMe Down To chart on ITUNES here in the states.. How many sales do you think?? Is it even possible if It's not a single?? A track is a track. They are all equal on iTunes ranking. The difference is that singles have additional promotion and often have two or more tracks on iTunes -- the single track, the album track and if there is a premium album a premium album track. They all get combined in Nielsen Soundscan but not on iTunes. When it comes to iTunes, it depends how you define "chart". It will almost certainly be in the top 100 tracks for some time -- and could move into the Top 10 based on Adam's fans buying power alone. There is no way to translate iTunes chart positions into absolute sales number because it is relative to other songs. But IF "Lay Me Down" can sell about 80,000 units it should be around #50 on the BILLBOARD HOT 100. And that would be very, very cool! And is possible. It looks like it could chart on the real chart in Finland. I expect it will do well in Canada and the US too. We'll see what it can do soon enough -- within 24 hours of US release.

There is no vocal category in the Dance Music genre.
