It sounds like Phillip's "Home", and yeah country! How is it selling when it isn't getting buzz like LMD? Country is very popular but mostly I think it's selling well because it's in the same vein as Wake Me Up, which is a huge hit. If you like a song, you may check out the new album and download song(s) similar to the one you like. Both this song and LMD are doing very well, considering they are not singles at this point. I think Hey Brother will be a single but I think if AVICII wants to show the eclectic nature of the album, he'll release a different sound next...LMD would be perfect :D! (no idea about YMM - personally it's the only track on the album I truly dislike) I absolutely agree.. this is exactly what I've been thinking in terms of releases, etc. Wake Me Up and Hey Brother open the album up to new fans, but doesn't necessarily speak directly to his core audience. The next release (whatever it is) will need to head in a different direction. Personally, I love the lyrics to Wake Me Up, but I can't get through too much of Hey Brother. Dislike would be a mild description of my opinion of country. |

Avicii's manager is also credited on the album and I don't think he wrote on LMD.. is that also typical that non-artists get credited? He is heavily involved in the mixing and production that Avicii does. I think he was credited with both production and writing the lyrics.. I was wondering about the credit on writing the lyrics since none of the 3 principals mentioned his co-write.. |

Okay, I'm listening to Hey Brother - I guess it's catchy, but yeah, how is it different from Mumford, PP, Lumineers, etc. Yee-haw! I guess it will be a choice of whether they want to make a last-ditch effort to catch the (I hope) tail-end of this folk-country fad, or show versatility by going wi LMD. Of course I'm speaking from the POV of someone who isn't at all into country or bluegrass and absolutely hated Oh Brother Where Art Thou. That all being said, as regards buzz, when I just googled "Avicii hey brother" and "Avicii lay me down," Hey Brother had 8,450,000 results to LMD's 5,060,000. I like both Wake Me Up and Hey Brother more than anything I've heard from Mumford and definitely more than PP! But I have to wonder if the sound will reach a saturation point at some point. It did seem different and interesting when Mumford first came on the scene but even though I like the sound, it's hard to get excited about it at this point. |
