Thanks AlexandraKv and Lilybob for changing your texts a bit. Works better now, states it more as our thoughts rather than assuming what Adam thinks and then further jumping to a conclusion that he is trying to ridicule. Saying that was just not working for me. The texts are fine now. Outside of you both, I have also found twitter messages picking up on the idea. There may have been other blogs besides Lilybob's, but I would not know that.
What follows, are my musings and responses to what you guys were bringing up:
As far Q3's statement, that there was no apple or snake. Huh? Ok? Yes. And the point of this is exactly what?
Starting with the usual big-bang....millions of years of development...... yadi, yadi, yadi evolution, I have never seen any point in looking for either real apples or real snakes or in denying their involvement in any actually occurring process. What are you trying to say though? Not sure I follow.
To be honest, I have also usually refrained from studying at great length any of the translation and interpretation related introductions of these symbols, because ultimately, at least to me, it does not matter, what historically happened to get us to where we are now. I'm familiar with some of the basics, though.
There is no question, that on a level of mythology or cultural impact, these symbols have infiltrated our understanding and thinking. Which of the existing interpretations Adam is attaching his own thoughts and skin to, I don't know. Maybe he will explain it one day. But until then, all I know, is that Adam has been focusing on the topic of sin again and again, and obviously, this topic is thrown at him a lot by people who probably should mind their own business, but for some reason consider it their religious or political duty to do the opposite.
Yes, the topic behind the apple is disobedience from God. I know. But it is also a disobedience from a rule that seems rather arbitrary to begin with. Just like a potentially godly rule that man shalt not be with man? That was where I was going with my topic the other night.
Its the archetype of independent human thought - and the potential rejection of certain traditionally and religiously given rules (from God). Whether this has anything to do with why he uses these symbols, I don't know. Clearly they mean something to him, he is working this topic from all kinds of angles throughout the years.
ETA: And on a more shallow note: Yes, I love the sleeve. Always knew it would be better, once there were not loosely dangling objects floating around the arm anymore. And he always said he wanted a sleeve, so this is just making it happen. Agree with others: What took him so long? I also normally love natural skin more, but have long accepted that Adam, and with him millions of others, see that differently. Not really a big deal for me. But yes, if he starts to tattoo his beautiful face or neck, I think, I would respond with major frustration and a few choice words to that. Pretty sure, I would. Entitled, I know.

The fall into sin represents the archetype of independent human thought - and the potential rejection of certain traditionally and religiously given rules (from God). Whether this has anything to do with why he uses these symbols, I don't know. Clearly they mean something to him, he is working this topic from all kinds of angles throughout the years. Well said. Archetypes permeate our thinking and our dreams and our literature whether it's on a conscious level or not. That's what makes them archetypes.

I feel better knowing that tattoos can be removed. I googled tattoo removal and found that lasers can do the job fairly easily with just moderate pain. I do think Adam's sleeve is very artistic, and looks like a style he would enjoy. Fits right in with some of the art he has purchased, and the little bit of the decorating I have glimpsed in his abodes.
