I found this twisted news bit in the Daily Express (UK):


Now we know this Roger quote was actually from a recent interview when Roger was talking about performing with Adam and said:

“Adam works very well with us….Brian and I love him to bits….He’s fantastic on stage and he has this tremendous charisma… he has got a range like I’ve never heard. It’s extraordinary, actually. It’s very interesting.”

Nothing to do with the Queen biopic.

But stitching together bits from here and there to create new news is a fine art.

And this is not just some online blog – it is from a “real” newspaper. The Daily Express is a daily national middle market tabloid newspaper in the United Kingdom. It is the flagship title of Express Newspapers, a subsidiary of Northern & Shell (itself wholly owned by Richard Desmond). In July 2011 it had an average daily circulation of 625,952. Express Newspapers currently also publishes the Sunday Express (launched in 1918), Daily Star and Daily Star Sunday.

We'll I just got the scoop and apparently Adam Lambert, the vocal powerhouse who rose to fame on American Idol and proved he was a rock superstar as Queen new frontman, has decided the next step in his career will be to play rock superstar Freddie Mercury in the upcoming biopic. The Daily Express reported on 10.9.13 that "Adam Lambert is tipped to play Freddie".

Of playing late rocker, Lambert said, “Yeah but you know, the way I look at it is I’m not trying too imitate him or outdo him or compete in any way, that’s not even in my mind at all, I think its really an honour to be asked to sing the music that he and the band wrote and get up there and put on a good show."

When asked how long it took him to respond to the offer from Queen, Adam replied, "The minute the offer was extended..."

The 31-year old singer-songwriter-actor, was recently seen shopping at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills, CA. Perhaps he was looking for inspiration for his upcoming part.

With the iHeart performance, Adam is the second longest-running frontman that Queen has worked with. The longest is, of course, Paul Rodgers, who worked with the band for four years starting in 2005. [If you start the Queen+Adam close with the 2009 American Idol performance, it is a tie. But that really does not count.]

‘Writing music like a crazy person’: What’s next for Adam Lambert after U.S. debut with Queen?

Fresh off a triumphal debut on American soil with Queen, Adam Lambert will apparently turn his attention to some new solo material — and he says appearances with Brian May and Roger Taylor have had a direct impact on the creative process.



Lambert’s most recent studio effort was the May 2012 album Tresspassing. That followed 2009′s For Your Entertainment, issued in the wake of his runner up finish as a contestant on American Idol. The concert EP Acoustic Live appeared in 2010.

By then, Lambert had already begun a musical relationship with Taylor and May in Queen, one that’s included a well-received set of European performances before last month’s show in Vegas as part of the iHeart radio festival.

Along the way, Lambert says he’s hit upon a musical theme for his new project.

“I’m writing music like a crazy person,” Lambert says in this talk with Ryan Seacrest. “I’m, like, in love with rock ‘n’ roll again. I feel like there is such a change happening in the music scene. People are playing instruments again, and this whole thing with Queen has been really inspiring. So, I’m going to revisit my rock ‘n’ roll roots a little bit — the things that made me want to audition for Idol in the first place. That’s been my inspiration.”
