News: Watch Adam Lambert's Glee debut

Adam rocks McKinley High

The trailer for Adam Lambert's guest appearance on Glee has been released.

It's almost become a right of passage for music artists to appear on the show. Britney Spears and Demi Lovato have both had roles as well as actress Gwyneth Paltrow and even celebrity blogger Perez Hilton.

Adam will play the part of Elliott 'Starchild' Gilbert on the show and the trailer below sees him rock out to the delight of the pupils, as he belts out Lady Gaga's Marry The Night while hanging from a chandelier.

The episode he appears in will air in the US on 7 November and is called tellingly A Katy Or A Gaga.

Speaking about his role, Adam said: "It was such warm welcome on my first day on set.
The cast were so sweet and they have a family vibe so I instantly felt I was in a safe, creative place with them and we jumped right in.
Excited to be on set again!"

"Glee" fans will have the next few weeks off to recover from the very emotional Cory Monteith tribute episode that aired Thursday. But when the Fox series returns on November 7, it will be back in all its kooky glory, putting silly antics, petty disagreements and over-the-top performances back at the center of the story.

A new trailer teases the next episode, which returns after a hiatus (thanks baseball playoffs), and MTV News is breaking down what to expect.

An APOPcalypse Is A Comin'!
The aPOPcalypse hasn't been averted, just yet. The upcoming episode of "Glee" is titled "A Katy or a Gaga." And by the looks of it, the gleeks are taking sides in the epic battle, meaning fans can expect extravagant takes on numbers from each of those pop princesses. It also means there will be costumes inspired by Gaga (yes, that's Artie as Gaga in the "Applause" video) and Katy.



So Are The Apocalypsticks?
Adam Lambert will make his first appearance during the episode, during which he's slated to belt out Gaga's "Marry The Night," wear a top hat and swing from a chandelier. Sounds about right.

Santana wants to name a band the Apocalypsticks. Kurt is definitely against the idea. Who will win? Well, only time will tell!

As it turns out, Lambert is auditioning to be in a band with Kurt (Chris Colfer), Rachel (Lea Michele) and Santana (Naya Rivera) and Dani!

Hip, Hip, Hooray!
The head Glambert is hardly the only new face joining the show. Fans are likely to learn more about one of the newest Cheerios, Erinn Westbrook (as Bree), who joined the cast this season. "I always admired the cast of 'Glee' just because they were all so multi-talented," Westbrook told MTV News about getting the chance to chill out at McKinley High as its latest mean girl. Move over, Santana!

Gone, But Not Forgotten
The show will continue to honor Monteith's character, Finn, even after saying goodbye to him this week. Show creator, Ryan Murphy, shared with E! that while he's looking to the future, including a November 14 episode entitled "The End of Twerk," Finn will hardly become a distant memory.

"I just made a decision that we keep mentioning Finn," Murphy said. "We don't just say this is done and we're never going to go back to it, so that resonates throughout the year." He added that the next step is to have "some fun and go back to some optimistic stories."

‘Glee’ First Look: Adam Lambert Does Lady Gaga — Watch

The time is finally here! After a four week hiatus, ‘Glee’ returns on Nov. 7 and we now have our first look at Adam Lambert’s character performing a Lady Gaga hit!

Adam Lambert will play Elliott Gilbert, AKA Starchild on episode four of Glee, titled “A Katy or A Gaga.” In the new promo, we finally see him meet the New York crew and prove that he absolutely has the talent to fit in in NYC!

The episode will be an epic battle of the ladies — all songs by Katy Perry or Lady Gaga – which will most likely divide the glee club in half at McKinley. However, we’re extremely excited about the new face joining the New York family.

Starchild performs “Marry the Night” in the trailer, for Santana (Naya Rivera), Kurt (Chris Colfer), Dani (Demi Lovato) and Rachel (Lea Michele).

We already know that he will be an enemy of Kurt’s, but by the trailer we can’t yet see if he’ll be on Santana and Rachel’s side.

However, hanging off a chandelier and swinging on ropes during his performances sure seems perfect for that crew.

As for the team at McKinley, we see Will (Matthew Morrison) get in Sue (Jane Lynch)’s face for the umpteenth time, telling her to bring it! The glee club is split between Gaga and Katy fans — and it looks like Jake (Jacob Artist) isn’t too into it, as he’s dressed up as a lion.

Overall it looks like an extremely entertaining episode, and we’ll need it after the emotional episode on Oct. 10. So, watch the promo and let us know what you think! Are you excited for Adam Lambert?
