I think Ryan has always acknowledged Adam's talent and personally liked him. But I think he also, almost instinctively, respects commercial success (hence, his love of all things Kardashian). Queen, Avicci, and Glee connections are industry "wins" - so is Miley at his party.
Also, I think Adam looked every inch the star there today. Every inch.
