Just popping in for a few responses from the last few days.
notacray said that RT's new studio album has no US distribution. That is true as of now but the admin said at one point that he believed Hollywood would put it out...but nothing firm in place yet.
Anyways as I said in the Queen thread. The new album is out!
amazon.co.uk - Fun On Earth
You can order it from there and it's NOT that expensive!
So far it's a great album. Mature and reflective overall but beautiful and well crafted. I'd LOVE for AToppers to support RT
The Box Set is FAR more expensive and delayed and there are a few errors on it but for those even more ambitious: amazon.co.uk - The Lot
ALL of RT's solo albums, the Cross albums, 4 bonus discs of single edits, non album tracks, live pieces, a few demos, and a DVD of promo videos, live stuff etc.
As far as various comments about a QAL tour, etc.
RT - with or without Adam. He just means quite simply that Brian and Roger are still doing stuff here and there as Queen. For example the Olympics was without Adam so if there is a need for Queen to perform and Adam is unavailable or doesn't wish to than Queen will still find a way to perform. I think he, like Brian, are very satisfied and he will be their first choice.
Brian's comments, etc. I'm not sure who the person is who said they are definitely touring and watch Brian's space...but they have better insiders than I do. I'm not saying I know everything going on in the Queen camp. They still surprise me...but I watch/read every interview and can make logical conclusions AND I have a few people on the inside.
And from what I know/heard is the same thing I said recently.
- iHeart was very successful.
- Promoters are looking to put together a tour (hopefully a US tour although I've never heard anything specific about this beyond a comment from Brian who said 'I hope so' when asked about a gig in NY -- BUT that's the answer he'll always give. "Could you play a gig in Antarctica? You have a lot of Eskimo fans!" "I hope so...we're looking into everything". )
- Brian (and Roger) are hesitant on anything large scale to the point where I'd be SHOCKED if it was any kind of big world tour.
- At the same time, they like performing so they could do a small tour but it's in the beginning stages at best.
- Brian's got dates in Feb with Kerry Ellis already so that's out.
- RT's new website (which is godawful I'm sorry to say - though they do play an exclusive nearly instrumental non-album track) DOES have a tour section so I would think that he's going to do at least a small tour so there's that.
So to sum up. There is the desire to tour. There are the means. The scheduling is difficult. And unless I've missed something they are nowhere near to announcing dates or anything like that. So patience will be required
