Why do you think they would sell out arenas in the US? Because I would love to have your confidence that they could do it.
Note: The Eagles can sell out 6 nights at the Forum because they have a huge fanbase in California. Could they sell out London's O2 for 6 nights? I think Queen + Adam Lambert could play arenas in other countries, including the UK.I just can't see any reason why Queen + Adam Lambert would outsell Queen with Freddie when the band was in their prime.
The last time "real" Queen with Freddie played the US was in 1982. This tour sold out all over the world EXCEPT the US.
They did two nights in the LA area in 1982 with Freddie.

There are lot of box scores on wiki --
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_Space_Tour#Box_office_score_dataThe Works Tour (1984) and The Magic Tour (1986) skipped North America. Queen did not tour again for 19 years until they returned with Paul Rodgers.
Queen did not have a new studio album that was in the US Billboard Top 20 after 1980 either -- even though they released 7 more studio albums that were hits in the UK and other countries from 1980-1995. Two of their many live and greatest hits albums were in the Top 20: "Greatest Hits" charted at #16 (1981) and "Classic Queen" charted at #4 (1992).

Queen did not play LA when they toured with Paul Rodgers. This is the closest to LA they played.
