I always miss you when I do not see you here, even if it is only one day. Always doing me nervous .. when I can not see my dear friends all together here ..
Just shout, we show up.
I know you don't like to stand out but we miss you terribly when you are not around!!!! No more than I do .. ye are my crazy world, which I love so much ...

We have discussed Adam's social intelligence a number of times. And how he adapts his manner, speaking style and posture to mirror the interviewer. I was watching this latest interview and noticed that Adam put his hand to his mouth in a manner I couldn't remember him doing before (start at about 2:00). What was up with that? Oh, I see. Watch the interviewer. He does that gesture first, and then Adam mirrors it. He also mirrors the crossed leg and the elbow on the chair arm. No, I don't think it is conscious, but it is very interesting. Recently heard a discussion on tv concerning how yawning is 'contagious'. Among many primates, the subconscious mimicking of behaviors in a group (scratching, hair-twirling, yawning, positioning, etc.), is a way to put group members at ease and gain acceptance and relieve tensions. Perhaps Adam, and the rest of us, have not progressed as far up the evolutionary ladder as we would like to believe.

OK, I've watched this many times and I think the hand to mouth mirroring is part of the humor when he pretends to read the interviewer's mind. Also, I hear Adam say enfathomable instead of unfathomable.

Mirroring body language and posture definitely has been shown to enhance rapport and increase comfort in groups and between individuals. It is, on some levels, instinctive, but it is also a technique that is taught in public speaking courses as well as sales training.I don't think that Adam is doing it as a conscious technique, but I believe it is one of the things that makes him so appealing and likeable in interviews.

I hope she is okay. *worried* I saw her yesterday on the line, I hope she is ok, I miss her too, and her beautiful mind ... Thank you Ladymaserati8! I miss her on Atop and on Twitter too. I hope she is ok and will be back here with us soon.

Also in this show, Adam is fantastic and so funny, I can not stop to laugh, seeing Adam under the piano .. he is amazing in everything he does and he does it so naturally. It would be awesome to watch Adam on TV everyday... www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDgeQoaPvgQ I've never seen this, WOW love it!!!! esp at the end "to showcase my closet bc I've been out of it for a while"
that SMILE!!!!! OMFG if I could I would fall in fanlove again for this.
I LOVE that line about the closet. This is what I love about Adam so much - he is so clever, quick-witted and good with words. Just perfect!
