Excellent point, Holst. For the purposes of singing opera on Glee (not at the Metropolitan Opera House) he could do a very convincing job of it. Bocelli is a fine example of what you are saying. And people always point out to me that Freddie sang opera. No, he did not. He sang with an opera singer. Dressed as an opera singer. In an operatic style number. With orchestra, chorus, etc like opera in concert. But, he, himself, tho' an extraordinary rock frontman, did NOT sing opera. If people watch that and are raving about his accomplishment, Adam singing an aria would boggle their minds. And mine, for that matter. Close enough for a TV musical soap opera, and wow, would it sound great, no matter that it is not authentic opera. I thought Bocelli's known as Classical, Operatic pop singer. And No! Freddie didn't sing opera, he's trying to combine the element of pop and opera in his album Barcelona. I think he loves opera, since we can hear opera element in a lot of Queen's songs .. or what they call Rock Opera. Adamme, I think you are right that he is known as a classical/pop singer. But he is not a very strong classical singer. My point was that the much of the general public (who are not generally well-versed in classical/operatic singers) think he is amazing. And that's fine. I'm glad people enjoy his singing. He's just not all that good when you measure him against those who are. He would never make it in the classical world but has found a wide audience for his classical "light" style. I think Adam's classical "light" (if we ever heard it) would blow Bocelli out of the water. (Can you tell I'm not a Bocelli fan? I really can't stand listening to him.)  |

Omigosh!! Well, here's something to cleanse the palette:
The big difference between Adam LAMBERT and those attempting to sing Under Pressure on the Voice, is that our Adam is a team player, while the others were listening to themselves instead of each other. Very little harmony in any sense of the word. JMO

Does anybody know whether there is an EP for this weeks Glee episode? I am trying to track the numbers for the songs and the EP if there is one. Found the songs but don't see an EP unless I'm missing it.

Adam Levine just told a Voice contestant who sang "Somebody to Love" that he could sing with Queen and hold his own. Hmmm. I feel Levine knows about and has seen Adam singing brilliantly with Queen on vids.....that's all I'm gonna say about this guy Levine. ETA: Oh wait....didn't he perform at the iHeart Concert where ADAM/QUEEN killed it?!   |
