No explanation for the parrot outfits. No mention of them whatsoever. Just there. Huh????? Which is indicative of what was wrong with Glee, IMO. The writers drop something into the episode but there is no follow-up. No development. No reaction. For example, Kurt books the band into an inappropriate venue for their premiere. He tries to convince them that he knows what he is doing by sharing his fantasy. When the song is over, the scene switches. I was left wondering, "What did the band think of the fantasy? Did it make them agree with Kurt? Did it bring them together, determined to make it work? Or did they continue to disagree?" No follow-thru. One person shows up for the gig. So, what happens? Do they perform anyway? Do any more people drop in? Do they do one song and then leave? Do the band members get miffed at Kurt? What about the club owner? Are the members discouraged? We find out in a later scene that the one audience member loved them and recorded them. That would have been an interesting scene to play out, don't you think? Instead of Kurt just taking 30 seconds to tell us about it. There were several more plot lines like that that had no development, no human reaction and it just felt hollow and incomplete. Like an outline or a sketch of an episode, not the episode itself. But, Adam was gorgeous. He did great with his lines. The little singing he did was of course wonderful. The clothes except for the 70s golf outfit looked great on him. He is very appealing onscreen. And, it seems that the response in the media is still very positive. As in, that's the only part of the episode they liked. hahaha. It's Glee .. IMHO it's not supposed to be taken seriously. It's not that deep. but coherent would be nice. on another ot note, I flipped over to the gaga Muppets. What audience was this directed to? If I had a child Muppet age... just no... How was it advertised? If you think Glee was bad whoa. Adam was perfect! When is he on next? Feb.?' eta: can't wait for Chunkey's recap!

Yeah...the vimeo just saved my day. I saw those first 3 minutes. wow....great lines...super acting job, well delivered and just right in intensity. So good to see that. Those acting roles will come...can just see it happening.
Cassie and others, I agree with you with the lack of follow-through. I understand that this is Glee and not a serious, conclusive debate, but still. You could create an arch, develop a storyline and make it relevant instead of cliche. There was no arch, whenever a story had been introduced, they jumped on to the next topic and so forth, making the show look like one big set of rambling mini stories, none of which had much development either.
All just feels like one big kindergarden with imbedded songs to me. But, then, there is a reason, I am an Adam fan and not a Glee fan. I like the kind of depth that our ironically "it's not so deep'-believing puppet-master brings to everything he touches. Light-handed and yet so deep, that is what Adam does so well.
Having said that, I am totally thankful for what Glee is doing for Adam and his career and I will be good and watch this show as long as he is on, and like many of you, I will hope they use his stint mostly for songs that really create a moment that will remain memorable for the show as well as for Adam himself.
