OK, I’ve been thinking about this. The only way that In the Groove fantasy sequence makes any sense to me is if the other band members burst out laughing once Kurt’s finished describing it, and then this dialogue follows:
Elliot (horrified): There is no way I would EVER wear day-glo yellow pants and a skinny tie in public.
Santana (indignant) : Why the heck are Rachel and I relegated to the role of backup singers while you sashay around the stage with the spotlight on you???
Rachel (kind voice of reason): Oh, Kurt, I don’t think that performance as you’ve described it is quite the right vibe to get people in a smoky club cheering for us.
And as an aside…I think Chris Colfer is definitely talented, a very good actor (actually, much better than I gave him credit for), fantastic comedic timing, and an all-round great guy. But I do. not. like. his voice. It’s plastic-y.
Ps. Happy thanksgiving to those in the US; happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate!
