Guys stop debating on the Freddie/Adam thing . Adam himself said there wouldn't be another Freddie . Brian and Roger both praised Adam a LOT LOT LOT and they said Freddie would have liked Adam . I don't like comparing . I like to think that they're in the same Royal family And now that , sadly , Freddie is gone , no one better than Adam to carry the Queen banner .

Yeah, yeah but could Freddie ACT? did he do Broadway type shows.. ? was he gorgeous? I again rest my case.. So who is the better overall showman?? plus having a great voice and magnetism galore.. bring it on Talon. You gals sound like you are having way to much fun with this debate!! LOL No winner to be declared. I really enjoyed the Adam/Freddy/QAL discussion, but most since Talon stepped in ... he adds to our rainbow (of views and backgrounds and realitychecks, and preferences, and obsessions, and loves and likes, and know-how, etc, etc. ... ) quite nicely I think, whenever he chooses.

Two points, I want to comment on: a) Adam being drowned out by the band. First of all, I only notice that when he is singing in his lower range, never in the upper one. And the reason is, of course, because the songs are written for Freddie's voice, and Adam's voice sits higher. I don't know, how this all works, but I have not really understood, why Queen does not transpose certain songs up for Adam, i.e. the whole opening sequence, is very much in the bottom range for Adam, and he needs to muscle his way through it, because most songs also command a certain amount of strength. Yes, I am not surprised that they had to adjust the mic volume for most of that. The issue is, that they need to pull it back for songs that start low and then move up, like 'dont stop me now'. In the upper ranges, Adam does not need any help and can easily project across the room and then some, and he can be heard above the band just fine. So, if some songs could be lifted up (transposed 1-2 full keys) for Adam, I think that whole problem would go away. I am not sure, why they don't do that. Is it so difficult to have a bass and a guitar sitting around that are tuned two keys higher? That cannot be it, can it? It would not be. I know for the Freddie Tribute no one sang it in the original key except George Michael and Gary Cherone. I think some things were dropped a tone or two for Paul. BUT what I meant though and maybe wasn't clear about the sound levels - it wasn't during the gigs...it was BEFORE the gigs...as in the typical levels they had, they messed with before the gigs started to compensate. You wouldn't have heard the previous levels. I agree with that statement. Agree and I am not a fan of female singers mostly to be honest. I think it's not necessarily even Idol. But the fact that Idol is representative of the celebrity for celebrity's sake mindset in America. Idol is not really about talent. It's about marketing and product. Sure the singers are to showcase their talent and need some talent to succeed but Idol itself basically says they can make someone a superstar. I don't hate Idol and all those shows...I watch them at times so I am guilty of tacit support but I'd much rather discover an artist a different way...but I'm lazy also You gals sound like you are having way to much fun with this debate!! LOL No winner to be declared. Ahem to paraphrase Austin Powers...I'm a man baby.... The truth of the matter is I didn't really know much about Queen until Adam & Queen. After hearing them together,i watched every video I could of freddie and Queen and became a fan. I was fascinated not only by his talent but by his entire l life. On Adam From what I have read from folks who have worked with Adam over the years,is that basically we have only seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Adam's talent.. so i'm looking forward to years of discovery Best of luck :D I hope you are right!

I agree. I learn a lot from many of the posters hear and other fans about voice and vocal technique -- and that increases my enjoyment and appreciation of Adam. >> Speaking of Adam, has anyone figured out where he was last night?

Adam deserves a private love life..I would like to know where he's going though.Hmmm what's he up to? movies,TV, New York the Great White Way,touring or all of the above. The answers lie in 2014.

eri9: Really interesting and timely post for me. My DH has actually shown an interest in watching the iHeart Queen-Bert on YouTube, and I actually printed out your post for him to read. He asks the same thing about what's so great about Adam, and your post sums it up and is coming from - well, someone that is not me: ) Glad to help! Let us know what your DH thinks!
