I can't listen to this song without thinking of Gokey. Everything comes back to Adam.

I do not blame Carrie for the mis-casting but I do blame her management! (Simon Fuller XIX Management - the man who destroyed Idol and botched Adam's UK launch in 2010 - thank God Adam is rid of him/them and has DMG). Carrie does not have the background or skill do be the star of a 3 hour live musical -- but she was part of the reason for the big audience. And NBC only cared about getting a big audience. Shame on XIX! JMHO but managers are paid to keep things like this from happening. Some people on Twitter liked it, some mocked but in a funny/snarky way, but there were some mean tweets and those are the one that get the press attention. I thought some of the pro critics were pretty fair but E! News was brutal.

Adam has a great (one in a "billion") voice. Freddie had a great (one in a "billion") voice. Thanks to technology we get to enjoy them both. Are there others? Well with billions on the planet I'd guess so. #itsnotacompetition #carryon
It's not and I never thought it was/is that's why I don't compare. Preference's a different thing. Just like opinion, it's subjective which I can understand.

Talon,
Can you tell us more about the song writing process Queen used? Any good stories? I heard Crazy Little Thing Called Love was written by Freddie in 5 minutes in the bathtub or some such story. I assume this would just be the lyrics & melody. Would the rest of the band members then write their parts for their own instruments or was it more collaborative? I know Freddie played piano and Roger played a number of other instruments, what about Brian and John?
My reason for asking is that I think the song writing process for rock bands is different than for a solo pop artists relying on a producer to add all the instrumentals on a computer. Would like to understand these processes better.
Thanks for all of your information and opinions!
