Congratulations Kay, you're doing so well! It's great to see new faces among the "regulars" and be encouraged by everyone else. Lost 1.2 lbs. this week, which frankly surprised me as we had company for the last 4 days, so did not exactly stick to the plan. But, I'll take it! We're off to Disneyland very early tomorrow morning on a week's holiday, so while we may do lots of walking I'm sure we'll be eating a bit more than normal too! So I will miss next week's check-in and will see you all in a couple of weeks! Keep it up!

Where is the "salad in the jar" recipe? Sounds like a good idea. I have a simple meal plan worked up and it seems to be working okay. My goal is to lose 8 lbs during the month of February. I do go to the gym and/or pool 4 times a week so I think 8 lbs may not be too optimistic. My first weigh in will be next week. I weighed this a.m. so I have a benchmark. I am also going to work on not beating myself up if I fall off the wagon. I need to learn to just start back up at the next meal, not the next day. Thanks for the advice for go to snack options. I'm moving my sewing machine upstairs (away from the kitchen) and may start up some sort of project. I have a lot of mending to do. I was also thinking of doing some embroidery -- maybe a special jacket for my first A3 concert!

"I need to learn to just start back up at the next meal, not the next day." This thought has never entered my mind! I am always thinking to myself since I blew the day, will start the next day back to being on my plan. But I have made progress... in the past, my 'binges' sometimes extended past one day, but now at least I get hold of myself and start back in the next morning. Will have to work on the next meal concept...guess the 'problem' with that for me is that when I am on one of these eating binges, it becomes more of a continuous grazing all day rather than distinct meals.

Jablea, thank you for your encouragement.
I do 16 floors down and up. Thinking of adding a floor every few days.... today I managed to do my jog/walk in the park, was cold but not windy, and that makes all the difference for me. I find Lose It very useful in that it stops me from snacking all the time - those calories add up very fast if I keep grabbing an apple here, a few nuts there...

Salad in a Jarkay had posted it earlier in the thread. I also added it to my first post on page one to keep track of it as jablea suggested.

Well, this week has been a terrible week. I totally stressed myself out and binged off and on all week!!! Gained 1.6 lbs, but expected it to be lots worse. Struggling to get a grip!!! :-/ :-S

Saturday weigh-in report....managed to lose .8 pounds this week despite it including one of my 2 'eating' days per month. Does anyone else have a problem with the consistency of their digital scale? This one is a good brand, yet I can get up to a pound variance each time I get on it. Usually in increments of .2 difference. Maybe it is the extreme cold weather affecting it. Now I get on it like 10 times and take the number that registers the most!

After much messing with it, I found there was a bit of a dustbunny under one of the feet. When I dusted it, it worked fine. Strange, I know, but it worked for me.

Thank you for the suggestion stardust! I will look at it closely to see if that may be the problem
