I should have used up a lot of calories today, I was standing outside in the below freezing weather for about 5 hours and I wasn't quite dressed for it. Temp job I wasn't expecting. But on to weight loss. I don't remember what I was last week, I'm either down 2 or down 1 from that. I am -3 towards my goal of -16 so that's cool. chappy, kudos for a majorly cool shape-up b-day cake for Adam.

I was thinking about how nice it would be to be junie and live in a state with enough character to warrant a walking program named after it. So I came up with my own, named Minnesotasize, which of course has a quite different personality than Texercise. Here's my morning workout: Step 1--Put on fleece sweatshirt, parka, hat, full facial scarfing, ski gloves, and fur lined boots in less time than it takes for the dog to do it's business, which is pretty fast at -32F windchill. Step 2--Shovel any snow from driveway and scrape ice from windshield before severe frostbite sets in. Step 3--Tighten all core muscles in an attempt to stay alive while the engine of your car attempts to warms up. Step 4-- Race to get into building while maintaining enough balance to not fall on the untreatable ice. Step 5--Plow heavy shopping cart across unevenly ridged ice channels in the lot. If shopping isn't completed in less than 10 minutes, starting again at Step 2 will be necessary. Repeat as needed throughout the day. It's a wonder I'm not already ripped. Enjoy your walk today, junie!

kay, I'll have you know that it's supposed to freeze here tonight. FREEZE! The whole city is in a panic. And it might drizzle too. And SNOW. The newspaper and TV stations want us all to try to take pictures of the snow, but we'll have to be quick since the ground is warm from being in the 70s all week. So, just because we're bundling up, building a fire, and making hot chocolate because it's 50 degrees here and falling ... don't think you have it soooooo easy. School might be delayed or cancelled tomorrow if this keeps up! I was thinking of blowing off my walk because of the extreme weather conditions. But you've shamed me out of it. Which is what this thread is all about!

Oh no junie! You definitely better skip the walk today and tomorrow! I was just kidding anyway, since I just take the dog out wearing a fleece sweatshirt, but I certainly didn't mean to make fun of you when you are doomed for such treacherous conditions.

I was just kidding too, because I did blow it off. Ha ha. Now it's 36 which ain't Texercise conditions but are a balmy spring day for Minnesotasize. Just for your amusement, kay, and anyone else who lives in the frozen north, here are the headlines from my local TV station website. The words "Winter Weather Advisory" are rolling across the top of the screen with the following message: Central Texas bracing for wintry conditions
A winter weather advisory for the Austin and San Antonio areas runs from Thursday night to midday Friday with a chance of light freezing rain and snow before temperatures warm. Highs in the 70s are expected Saturday in Austin.Tips: Preparing for winter weather
Central Texas school delays
School district cancels after-school activities
De-icing material causing collisions around town
Tips to keep your property safe in freezing weather
City of Austin golf courses temporarily closed
ETA: It didn't turn out to be that funny. People didn't pay attention to the warnings and there were 200 accidents overnight. There is ice on the roads and everything is closed today.

Well, I'm not surprised that I gained .6 lbs this week (had to work hard to get it that low, actually). Have been mostly out of control and it could have been much worse. Have picked up some bad, bad habits and struggling to get them under control.
