Grrrr - arguing with someone who thinks that Adam didn't do a very good job of imitating Hendrix. Here we go -- trying once again to explain that he's not trying to imitate anyone. It's beginning to get tiresome. The Freddie argument revisited.

My ears also hear it. He is using a darker, richer, more baritone sounding voice on MW, which is lowered by one full pitch at least. It works well with the lyrics and the tune of this song. Cassie is he actually singing lower or is he just coloring it darker like he did at Upright on that version of Crazy. He has lowered the key by a minor third (a step and a half) which, in terms of the sound, the mood of the piece, and the darkness or weight, is significant. If you listen to the first verse of the Winstar and then, immediately listen to the Idol performance, you will note that the Idol version sounds lighter and brighter, not as melancholy, even tho it is a slower tempo. Adam also adds a darker color to his voice in terms of harmonics and fullness. Not as baritone as in Crazy at Upright, but a similar idea. Compared side by side, Idol and Winstar almost sound like different singers. Certainly different colors and moods. That is part of Adam's brilliance.

Thanks to all who responded to my very naive...haha...belief that audience sound could be fixed so easily. I'm a little wiser now and just thank heavens I've been in the right spot...so far...to get good sound. Had no idea it was so complicated. HAPPY NEW YEAR once again. Thanks to all for these wonderful pics and vids. I've been glued to my laptop all day. The RED HOUSE cover just blows me away each time I watch it.

I played Adam singing "Red House" to a friend who is just starting to get to know Adam -- it was right after I played Stay from South Korea. While "Red House" was playing she said, "It doesn't sound like the same singer." His versatility is somewhat surprising.

It's beginning to get tiresome. The Freddie argument revisited. I know the feeling. Some people just don't get it no matter how you try to explain it to them. Finally I just think 'whatever' and stop trying!lol

IMO maybe Adam should have someone in the audience area listening for any sound problems at the soundcheck...maybe one of the mgmt people. Seems like there is a problem with audience sound every show. j/s The sound also changes when the place is full of people versus just a couple of people. So he would need to do a sound check with full audiance. I am sure that many, many fans would volunteer to help!
