I can't offer phone help, only condolences on the dead computer. You are reminding me to get my own laptop backed up. Good luck for rebuilding everything. Damn, I have just been informed by my husband that no, my little laptop probably hasn't been backed up because it's not part of our official home network. So what is our "home network", I ask? Umm, the main laptop in the office, he says. So it's a network of one then, I say. No, two! He says...the main one and the server, lol. But not any of the other laptops floating around the house, I ask. Well no, I didn't think they were important, he says. The irony here is that my husband is a network specialist. Like, he designs and supports corporate networks. But I'll forgive him because he did keep my laptop on life support for a short time, playing whack-a-mole with various CPU processes to try and keep it going long enough to transfer over a backup from the computer to my phone...but the computer died in the middle despite his best efforts. I'm sorry for your loss, but I had to chuckle at that. It seems the old adage applies: "The shoe maker's children have no shoes."  |

Thank you Kamar, you are a sweetie. I was just kidding on twitter and here. There is a snowball's chance in hell for Adam to sing in Russia for the Olympics. What is interesting is Elton John did a smackdown at his last concert in Russia. Seems there were no reprocussions. Madonna was lambasted for her words. Russia may pay him back the next time and not issue a visa. "Snow's chance in Hell" LOL I love that sentence  *sigh* Idk , I will just sit back and wait for the reveal . All I know is that we our panties will hit the floor so hard they will end up halfway to china when we actually find out . |

Dunno why , but I'm thinking now that the "clues" are about this record label : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Def_Jam_RecordsI mean , it starts with "D" , It's part of The Island Def Jam Music Group (BTR has an Island-y vibe) , part of UMG , And it's location is in NYC (where Adam was before these crazy tweets) Shosh followed "Virgin EMI" a few days ago . So , according to my Crystal Ball , he is signed with Def Jam Recordings , which is part of The Island Def Jam Music Group , which is part of UMG . Phew !! Excellent except that Virgin EMI UK distributes Republic Records/Lava in the UK. Shoshanna's follow just builds the case for Lava. Also, Adam will not sign with a hip-hop/urban label unless he has learned to rap over the summer. |

If someone wants to take this on, my recommendation is to pick a global charity (Charity:Water) and to kick it off before Adam's birthday but run the campaign for 90 days.Isn't this something Shoshanna could coordinate?

OK I tweeted a message to Adam .. What can the Glamberts get you for your birthday.. I doubt whether I will hear from him..LOL I have learned a bit about doing these charity campaigns for Adam's birthday. I set up the original Birthday page on DonorsChoose.com for his 29th birthday. (Back in the Planet Fierce days.) And that later was turned into the official Birthday page. I also did the 30th Birthday Charity:Water program. Same thing. First it was ATop then it expanded. The Charity:Water program was better because it was international. It is a lot of work. Adam took the lead last year and used his birthday to support Nile Rodgers charity because they suggested it as part of the award he received. I do not have the time to do a charity campaign again and it is IMO too late to start. It is something that needed to be started in November or December. The risk is to do something and not match past years' results making it look like Adam has fewer fans supporting him.
MY VERY STRONG RECOMMENDATION IS TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT THIS YEAR.
But trust me, to do a charity campaign, someone needs to plan to work about 40 hours a week for a few weeks and needs to get volunteers to work one other fansites including ALF and AO.com. It did not happen organically for 29 and 30. (Note: It sure helped when Adam tweeted it both years.) Last year was hard and a few fans made big contributions at the end to pump up the total. It was not because people were not willing, it was because there was not proper grass-roots organization and there was structure to keep promoting it and build awareness. If someone wants to take this on, my recommendation is to pick a global charity (Charity:Water) and to kick it off before Adam's birthday but run the campaign for 90 days.
I think this may be a great idea to keep in mind for next year keeping in mind an early start and learning curve. Here I was thinking a page set-up and a few tweets. Innocent me! I do still continue to donate to the org and always reference Adam's introduction to their charity. |

I've lost so much stuff on different computers and phones over the years. Now I just keep a flash drive plugged in and back up new stuff each day. It takes seconds. Once a month I do a major backup to my passport. Between the two, I was able to restore all my stuff the last time I experienced a computer meltdown. I know the absolute dire feeling of losing everything. Sorry to hear it happened to you! I'll be donating to Charity Water for Adam's birthday unless he comes up with a idea of his own. I love this organization and their accountability. Also, it doesn't hurt that Adam is an out and proud Aquarian. I've always thought that Adam would be highly flattered if his fans just gave willingly without prompting from him -- a grassroots birthday donation drive. I agree and will do the same thing. There is no cw birthday page for Adam's 32nd.
