2013 was undoubtedly a popular year for album releases. Within a few short months we saw new albums from Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, One Direction, Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears and Beyonce (!!)—it was exhausting to say the least.

Next year may not be filled to the brim with new music, but that doesn’t make us any less excited for what’s to come from these five awesome artists:

Adam Lambert — The newly anointed Queen frontman hasn’t officially announced his first post-Glee, post-Avicii album, but in a recent interview with Yahoo, he said if he doesn’t release a new album in 2014, “something is seriously wrong!” He became the first openly gay artist to debut at #1 on the Billboard charts with 2012′s Trespassing and shocked the world by making out with his guitarist at the American Music Awards.
Needless to say, this literal queen is going to nail it again next year (the album, not the guitarist).
