I don't know ASL but it looked beautiful to me! Hope she got an A! Maybe one of our ASL experts could comment. I am not an interpreter, but I am a native user of ASL. I am impressed by the amount of vocabulary she displays during this performance. That is usually the first item that makes me cringe when I watch these types of performances. She also displayed a good amount of confidence, although you could tell she was nervous. There are some conceptually inaccurate signs being used (she uses the sign for "escape" for "always on the run"), it is also pretty English based signs. She didn't interpret the song and convey it's true meaning. She mainly signed the words that Adam sang. She did well for a beginning- intermediate ASL class, as I think that is the level of this class. I would even say she has potential to use ASL quite well with more training. Cassie can give a better critique than I can. This young lady isn't ready to do stage performances at this time.

What do you mean by "what's wrong with them?" Nothing I am just trying to recall the conversations from previous threads as to what was the best label.. and I don't remember this one? It is part of UMG. Any UMG label is 100% fine with me!

I think that Adam's management did not want him anyplace prominent associated with this year's Grammys. It is a pretty typical PR strategy to have promo cycles with planned quiet periods. But I am really ready for the up promo to start. ** OT but I would be really happy is Queen B, JZ and Blue Ivy had to have a quiet period and went away for a while. JMHO but the low point of the Grammys was either the opening number or Jay Z's little speech. Well, not JMHO seems to be consensus that the opening number was not that good and not appropriate. Q3 - is the total quiet and secrecy because he is still totally free until the end of the month? It is quiet because he has nothing to promote. It will stay quiet until he has something to promote. My guess is that will be soon but whatever DMG has planned, I have confidence in them and how they are working with Adam. Both Adam's 19 Recordings and RCA agreements were subject to release agreements with a calendar associated with them. I think he is free now, but he has not shared his contracts with me. But next time I see him, I'll ask. (Ha! Waves to Adam -- can you give us a clue? ) I think we will just have to wait and see. I thought something was likely to happen on 1.28.14 -- tomorrow. Perhaps it will, and perhaps it is scheduled for later.

Please let something happen this week! I wonder if Ivy's tweet is the beginning of the "cat being let out of the bag?!" I hope so! You know that tweet from her must have been "Adam approved." And if I were to guess, I'd guess that duet is already done!

unbelievable... FLOPFFLE chunkeymonkey81Imagine if Adam did this? Sorry Prince but you seem like a massively out of touch a-hole. independent.co.uk/arts-entertain… Prince sues 'bootlegging' Facebook fans for $22 million in piracy lawsuit
Pop icon Prince is suing fans who posted his live performances on Facebook or blogs - to the tune of £605,000 each. The "Purple Rain" singer filed a copyright lawsuit on 16 January in the Northern District of California, targeting 22 individuals he believes have committed "massive infringement and bootlegging" of his copyright. more.... Apparently Prince is well known for not liking the internet and digital music. Here's a 2010 article from www.vulture.com/2010/07/according_to_prince_the_intern.html that gives you a really good feel for Prince's feelings about digital music:
The "Internet's Completely Over," According To Prince
Prince has been reluctant (to put it mildly) to embrace music’s digital age, refusing to release his music online, withholding his catalog from YouTube and iTunes, and even shutting down his official website. And the singer, who has the album 20Ten due later this summer, took the opportunity to articulate his frustrations with the internet in a recent interview with the Mirror.
"The internet's completely over," he said. "I don't see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else. They won't pay me an advance for it and then they get angry when they can't get it. The internet's like MTV. At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers and that can't be good for you."On the other hand, some artist completely embrace the digital age. Some of the Prince articles mention that The Grateful Dead and Nine Inch Nails have the opposite viewpoint from Prince. It's all very confusing for fans to know what is allowed and what is not allowed to be put on the internet when there are such opposite viewpoints from the artists. Prince believes that the digital posting of his music erodes his sales. Other artists have used the internet to make new fans and hopefully sell more music and concert tickets. I personally will not buy a CD or pay a lot of money to go to a concert unless I have first listened to enough of the artist's music online or watched concert video on YouTube to know if I will like it. I have too many CDs that I bought that I never listen too because I bought them blindly without knowing if I would like them. I can buy smarter now, and consider new artists that would never get played on radio, because I can listen first online. Adam seems to be OK with fans posting concert YouTubes as he and his band members frequently tweet links to these YouTube videos. I would hope that this includes sharing downloads from the YouTubes and audio, but how do we really know. It would be really nice if all artists would let his/her fans know what their policy is on recording video and/or audio at concerts. And it would be nice if the artist would let the venues know his/her policy so that the venues who regularly have a no recording policy are not policing fans of artists with a liberal recording policy. But then we would not get such gems as Adam's "Take My Picture" jam at the Winstar. For example, Maroon 5 states their policy very clearly on their fan site www.maroon5sin.com/tour/. They allow audio only recording of their concerts, but want trading of the audio to be on a "personal" level (one-to-one) rather than by posting for general public download. Audio Taping Policy At Concerts: Maroon 5 allows audio taping at almost every live performance. We feel that each show is unique and want to offer our fans the opportunity to recreate the live experience through the audio reproduction of our shows. At all taping-authorized performances, tapers can record from any ticketed seating location in the venue. No soundboard or power feeds are provided.
Taping is limited to audio-only. Wireless receivers are strictly prohibited. We sincerely appreciate all of our fans, so we ask that you please be considerate of those around you by not obstructing anyone else's view of the performance.
All recordings must be used for personal use or trading only. Selling or commercializing any recording is illegal and will jeopardize taping privileges for everyone.
In addition to helping fans recreate the live experience, we hope tape trading will foster greater interaction within the fan community. Any method of trading that does not involve personal fan interaction defeats the spirit of this goal of the taping policy and is not authorized. In particular, posting audio or video files on web sites for streaming to or downloading by the public, is not authorized.I
