I watched Garth Brooks' show from Las Vegas about a month ago where he previewed the album and sang covers of many of the artists who had influenced him, and explained why. It was very high-energy and he spotlighted those who had, over the years, defied the music industry and labels to fight for their own creativity and musical innovation. Brooks has always been known for his highly personal lyrics and independent way of doing things. He's always incorporated a lot of different influences into his work, and he did mention Queen in the show that I watched. It was the same night Adam was at the Britney Spears thing and I couldn't help but think of the irony, actually. There couldn't be two more different artists in the music business than Britney, who seems little more than a zombie, and Brooks. I saw that. Was just flipping channels and stopped and watched. really good show and I'm not a big country fan. Just like a few artists like Willie, Patsy and Hank, etc. Think I will add Garth! I don't follow country artists, but I think I remember something about Garth several years ago - about him wanting to stop touring or recording the country country stuff. Even if it was very lucrative, it was driving him crazy because he wasn't doing the kind of music he would rather do. Maybe Junie would know.. Anyway, maybe he's doing what he loves now is excited about life and art again. Can't listen to STL now, but will later. This is such an interesting place!

I am bringing over the last post of the day yesterday...mine and Murly: 11 hours ago mszue said: I know it is not 'cool' on this forum, to like Idol [oddly enough] but seriously, this years auditions are being handled the best I have seen and the show is definitely on the right track to regain its crown. For beginners, the contestants are featured so much more than on any of the other shows, and the talent put thru so far, is really good. just saying... It kicks the last few seasons ass, big time..... Murly: I absolutely agree. This is Idol as it always should have been: classy and focused on talent but still a lot of fun. I hope word gets out about its improvement so that people will start tuning in again. Read more: atop.proboards.com/thread/2129/29-14-happy-birthday-adam?page=24#ixzz2rtzQ7K9EI just want to add that by bringing on past popular contestants as mentors, periodically, they are also bringing back fans who may have abandoned the show so they can see just how much of what chased them away...really has been fixed. Nice to see......hope it continues... I agree and I have been watching for the first time since Adam. I think I may be in love with Harry. I have been watching also. I think the show is so much better than it has been in recent years.(since Adam's year). I also liked the Garth Brooks show that was on TV. I also bought a signed picture. I am celebrating the sale of my home, I will be moving to Baltimore soon to live with my daughter. Good things is I will be closer to any venue that Adam might be performing than where I am now. Bad thing is I will be leaving the beach although there is 10 inches of snow and ice on the beach today.

There should be a law against polls that last for more than a couple of days. Violators will be put to death. It sounds harsh, I know, but you have to draw the line somewhere.

Well at least we know Adam will stay single until he wins this, and he is still the front runner.
