Gelly @14gelly 7m Music's 17 Greatest Bromances via @fusetv www.fuse.tv/galleries/2014/02/bromances-music-valentines-day … / #2 Adam Lambert + Kris Allen
Adam Lambert + Kris Allen Even as Glamberts screamed in disbelief when Allen was named the Season 8 champ of 'American Idol,' the theatrical singer embraced his competitor with a huge hug. Allen has called his former roommate "one of the best guys I've known" while Lambert said his competitor was "the one guy I found attractive in the whole group on the show." Doesn't get more bromantic than that!

So sorry to be late for yesterday's discussion re the over-sharing, too long promo for Trespassing.
From the viewpoint of a superfan, which most of us here are, that promo was something which I appreciated very much, i.e. I loved it when Adam shared all the bits and pieces about the creative process. I think that, although I don't disagree that that could have been a part of the promo, it was more of a reflection of Adam's own need and wish to share a lot at the time, which in turn was a reflection of his enormous belief and love for that album, 'his baby', as he called it. What I am trying to say is that the sharing bit was organic and impulsive, not so premeditated - as his relative 'silence' now is, too, for that matter. To simplify, I think that's how he feels right now, no more and no less, and that it has nothing to do with his future album's promo. I also have very strong impressions about why that is the case, but they are just speculations.
Sometimes, the discussions about the wrong singles' choices from Trespassing, or about the delay of its release, and all the other messes and wrongs done by his then label, can leave one under the impression that some songs were less approved by Adam, or not even wanted that much by him, and that implication is most strongly felt for NCOE, which is all kinds of wrong, in my opinion. I think he loved all songs on that album and if any of them making the final cut was a bad decision according to anyone's opinion, Adam was the one to be blamed or praised for it. The lack of support and understanding from the label is the only reason Trespassing didn't get the success it should have gotten. Apples and oranges, is the point. Adam felt and understood some of those implications and his response was always to stand firmly behind each and every song. I don't like when people say bad things about any of Trespassing songs - which has nothing to do with me thinking that it was/is perfect, and everything with Adam thinking exactly that.
Once I heard a Star Wars superfan talking about how the producers of the films understood the superfans' need to get their daily fix and decided to release one photo from the set, just one, every single day during the shooting of the films. They understood what superfans needed and they tended to that need by releasing a photo on their site every day. When I hear something like that, I wonder if Adam's superfans are just spoiled ( which we are, just a tiny bit:))), or just ...different, in a way that yes, I need my daily fix, but not just of anything. Photos are okay, rumours and announcements from elsewhere are just fine, his supportive tweets even more, but the whole sea of them cannot measure with a single honest thought from him about his creative process. That's what's been missing this time around and although I am hungry for that, I understand and respect his choice. Furthermore, I am not entirely sure if he is even aware that some of us make that distinction; for all I know, he could be thinking that he is around almost every day, tweeting or instagramming... not knowing that all some of us want is to hear him think:) Until we can hear him sing, that is.
Sometimes, when I rewatch his interviews and performances from the Trespassing promo, a bittersweet experience for me, I see so much passion and faith and hope that I wish for him to be less emotionally open this time around, for his own good. He left his heart out there and that's always a dangerous thing. Having that in mind, this temporary, or maybe even permanent, break from it is perfectly understandable. It has nothing to do with his superfans or anyone other than himself, I think. Not to mention that the perception of the current situation varies from fan to fan. When I read tweets from his fans which say 'fan since Titanium, or Glee, or PLL, or Queenbert', I cannot but smile at those babies and toddlers of the fandom and wonder if they will remain to be just fans, or will spiral directly down the rabbit hole of superfandom. I sometimes feel guilty for burdening them with heavy thoughts some of us superfans are sporting, since light fanning seems quite an acceptable and maybe the most pleasurable option.
These 'fresh fans' are going to get excited and curious when they hear same old, same old promo questions directed towards Adam, like the immortal 'Who would you like to make a duet with most?', with its now close contender 'How does it feel to sing with Queen/fill Fredie's shoes?' or any of their variations. As for me, the 'un-fresh' one, I'll just observe his usual level of witticism and grace in handling them, preferably without spontaneously combusting. But that wit and grace of his have to come from somewhere, hence the extended regrouping of his, as well as the same passion and love for his new album as he had for Trespassing, which I know will be the case. Adam could be falling in love with his songs as we speak or has already fallen in love with some of them. And I know he will do everything he can to make me love them too, one way or another. I have no intention of questioning his ways.
To be quite honest, all this acceptance and calm of mine stem from who I want to be. Who I am every so often gets very impatient, or bitches about Bruno singing at the Superbowl, or the Grammys, etc. There is never a lack of bitching material in this fandom:) Sometimes, I guess, you just need to let who you are be in order to reach that who you want to be level, if at all. For example, a certain someone we know cried his eyes out before he could get his 'no regrets' mojo going on after a certain event;) The concept is not foreign to him, since he sang 'I know the battles of chasing the shadows of who you wanna be '. That's what we do all the time, I think, chase the shadows of who we want to be. And it is indeed always a battle.
To illustrate, this is how this whole post would look like in my 'bitch' mode:
1. Adam doesn't share? Deal with it! 2. You trash Adam's songs? I'm going to rip your throat out! 3. @adamlambert When is the new album coming out? What does the new song sound like? I wanna hear your voice! Please, stop tweeting about other people's music. And stupid photos. Gimmegimmegimme your music!!! 4. @adamlambert I'm so sorry, that tweet was not me, my account just got hacked. I would never, I mean, that person is so rude. Please, tell me more about Dzenan Loncarevic! So nice of you to support other artists:)))
Something like that:) I forgot to say what instantly triggers my bitch mode these days: creepy fanart and trolls, which we had plenty of these days, but I never said anything, so it's aaall good, I'm good, and everything is going to be just fine:)
