I am grateful to have a recording of Adam's performance last night. Loved it, as usual. His voice is such a balm and a delight.
I felt that he was in a duel with the pianist, however. The "accompaniment" kept getting louder and louder, and so did Adam. Another singer would have been drowned out, but not Adam with his power and a microphone. It was almost comic. Almost. But it ruined the song for me. A good accompanist carefully listens to the soloist, and follows their lead as far as crescendos and decrescendos, phrasing, pauses, etc, but should never initiate the interpretation themselves. I imagine that Adam in rehearsal said "Here I want to gradually increase the intensity" and the pianist anticipated rather than followed in performance.
While we know that Adam is a gracious and generous performer, sharing the spotlight with others, dialing back to match less proficient singers, when it is HIS solo and HIS time to shine, ain't no stinkin' pianist gonna drown him out! You, go, Adam!

Just beautiful! I loved the spiced up ending! And I wanted to bite the poor waiters' heads off:) Not really:)But my peripheral vision did give them a death glare for, you know, moving. I think the trouble with Melvin is that it doesn't go well with his sweet side. It's perfect on that photo with Chris, where he has his sexy glare on, but it looks kind of misplaced when he has his sweet pepe smile on. So, for someone who switches from sweet to sexy and back more often than.... (very often, I can't come up with an expression right now), it's tricky:) Other than that, I think he looked great, always love him in a suit:) I don't blame you Aleksandra. :D I loved the vid, but have to say - those waiters were disturbing there. (I was like: 'Can't just everyone wait until Adam finishes his song??!!' :D) Waiters? What waiters? There were waiters? I heard the guy move his chair and it sounded like a loud fart, but other than that, I was totally focused on the performance. Adam does that to me. Yeah, I know I commented on the pianist, but, that was part of the performance (unfortunately). Michael Orland, Adam needs you.

Eber once said that Neil is as good at the piano as Adam is at singing.

My personal preference would be to not see Melvin again for a very long time. And nix the very short sides on the hairstyle. However, it seems every young, hip guy these days is sporting some kind of facial hair. And I have seen many with that buzz cut on the sides, too. Didn't see it when Adam first started wearing it, but now it seems to be everywhere. Adam is, as usual, at the front of the pack in terms of trend-setting. And, he stubbornly refuses to consult with me about his appearance. Or anything else for that matter. sigh.

Gotta say, tho', that I think Eber is being a doting father here. If Neil was as good at the piano as Adam is at singing, he would be earning a very good living as a concert pianist. j/s

My favorite part of this poll is seeing Adam in first place. My second favorite part is seeing Perez Hilton dead last. My least favorite part is that it's gone on for too damn long.
